Ferry Boat Inn

Truro, United Kingdom Pub

One of the Best Places To Visits in Helford Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Tucked away right on the riverbank, The Ferry Boat Inn is a hidden gem you can’t reach by car – and that’s part of the charm. Arriving feels like stepping into a slower pace of life, with boats moored nearby and plenty of outdoor seating to soak up the view. Inside, there’s a spacious dining area plus a separate room with a pool table for a more casual vibe. We ordered fish and chips and a cheeseburger – both generous in portion and spot-on in flavour. At around £19 per main, it’s not the cheapest, but the quality makes it worth it. They also offer a selection of specials if you fancy something different. A relaxed riverside pub with hearty food, great views, and a setting that feels like an escape. Fabulous pub located on the Helford River. Small menu but there is a specials board offering food with generous portions. There is a car park if you prefer not to walk there along the southwest coastal path. A great pub. We sat on a bench outside overlooking the beautiful Helford river. Stunning. Took passenger ferry across the river to Helford. Walked up the road to Trebah Gardens. A wonderful day. This pub is always extremely busy, which says a lot about it. If the weather is get a table outside for beautiful views of Helford Passage, you might have to wait a while, but people are always coming and going. Fish and Chips are really as are the burgers and the Mackerel pate is very tasty. Range of beers are excellent and service really quick. Definitely a favourite pub for us! A little bit pricey, but everything goes up in price and if your sailing into Helford it's not going to be a problem, though I'm a land lubber and can't afford to eat here every night, which is a shame😂 A nice pub. Plenty of tables. service. Nice food. for walkers along the coast. Parking is at the top of the hill ( 5 minutes steep walk) £3 per day or part of. Wonderful pub with a great atmosphere, perfect for stopping by in the evening after a day of activities. I came here after a walk around the Helford Estuary with my family, the pub was busy and had a atmosphere and we sat outside with some drinks and then ordered food. The food was all really and tasty and service was prompt despite it being a busy day. The view from sitting outside is beautiful and really relaxing to be able to gaze out across the water at the boats. Friendly helpful staff. We didn’t have a reservation but a table was cleaned & made available for us. We both ordered the specials. The crispy fish tacos were good, but to be great - the pineapple salsa needed a little sweetness and more of it. The steak sandwich was tasty - steak cooked to perfection. Would recommend. Note: barking dogs and people noise level is high!! Fantastic food! Best battered fish ive had in a long time! Generous portions, reasonable prices, and of course the beautiful view of the river and hills! Recommend the fish finger sandwich! Very quick service too! (The inn is very dog friendly, beach is dog prohibited april-sept but saw plenty jumping in the river for a swim!)
