Easily the best Pub Meal I've ever had! They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but with this food, you can taste it to! The were very welcoming, seating us on time and without delay, each table provided with a free Water with Lemon and refills - a nice touch. A group of six, we opted for 5 roast dinners and I went for the Special, which was Steak and Ale Pie with New Potatoes with Veg. The food arrived within maybe 10-15mins of ordering, piping hot and fresh - all 100% accurate as ordered! Each bite was to die for, the portions massive and the quality farm fresh - if you want to experience farm to fork food, this is it! Drinks, again arrived very promptly with no errors. We then opted for some desserts, which again are all made in house and were delicious! I'd definitely recommend booking a table and checking this fantastic gem out, now this is how a Pub should be - Amazing locally produced food, Great Service and traditionally run! Thank you so much for an amazing experience - we will be back!! Great service, friendly and good food at good prices. Good size car park and good menu choice. Going back for Sunday lunch we liked it so much. Tried Sunday dinner, good selection of meat, costs slightly more to try all of them but able to mix whatever you like. Lovely selection of vegetables and really tasty, it does come covered in gravy so be sure to ask for it separately if you would prefer. Unfortunately the roast potatoes were not very nice at all, rock hard on one side, difficult to cut, then almost boiled on the other. Would recommend visiting to try for yourself and I would eat there again. The service was great and quick, really friendly staff. I had this place recommended by locals and family. The pub itself has a great atmosphere and the are very friendly. I think I was just a little bit disappointed with the food. I ordered the ploughman's but there wasn't that many different flavours on my plate. Pickled egg, pickled onion, chutney - all tasted similar). I would have expected a pork pie or scotch egg and a bit more variety of salad other than lettuce For £18. They have different themed food nights...Thursday night is sausage & mash and Friday night is fish and chips. So maybe worth another trip soon This is a proper pub, and the food is absolutely fantastic. The service is amazing and I recommend visiting, we were staying in a nearby campsite and thought we would stop here on the way back. I did assume it would be the usual pub grub, but I was amazed with every plate bought out the kitchen. You should go, they also do music/food theme nights. We came at a busy time which meant it took a little longer than preferred to order food and drinks. Table water was promised shortly after seated however was forgotten and required asking. Food was delicious, and relatively well priced for 2025. Absolutely lovely who were striving to be helpful! Would visit again 🙂 Very very soft weird burger almost like having mashed potato in a bun, lacking in filling pretty plain and I added £2 cheddar but I couldn’t and my gf couldn’t taste it - I could see mushy looking “cheese” but couldn’t taste it. Chips were fantastic though. The ham and piccalilli sandwich was ham, oily rocket salad and tiny pot of piccalilli. Underwhelming would be the summary but were lovely and settings great maybe it was just a miss fire from the kitchen. We had an absolutely outstanding Sunday lunch at this very old, stylish pub. From start to finish, everything was perfection. The service was attentive and friendly, with a warm welcome. The food was simply superb—beautifully presented, delicious, and cooked to perfection. The interior exudes charm and character, while the outdoor seating offers a fabulous retreat—perfect for enjoying the day. The overall atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, making for a truly memorable dining experience. We left feeling utterly delighted and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier meal in a historic, stylish setting.
