Absolutely beautiful 🥰 This place is incredibly tranquil. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare on weekends though Amazing place with some fascinating history. Love the mix of abandoned industrial heritage mixed with nature reclaiming what we destroyed. A lovely peaceful space with an abundance of interesting nature. A nice 1 hour trail which is very much pet and kid friendly! There's a small waterfall along the way. Getting here is tricky though - there is no reserved parking space and you need to find parking spots on nearby streets. Lush place for a quick stroll! Very slippery ground in winter, uneven in places but beautiful and interesting. Park in the village, not on the road near the entrance). This place is unreal.. but dont be mistaken by theres big waterfall as I didnt find any only tiny ones and I went to the top in to ppl house unless it further on .. but still a lovely place to go .. make sure u wear water shoes so u can and get in the river We had a beautiful visit here. Not easy to find and parking sparse but worth the visit. Very interesting and joyful feel to this area now nature has taken over again but seeing the engineering used alongside nature reminds us how it should be. Gorgeous local treasure, perfect for anytime of the year! Filled with history and beauty, there’s a magnificent river surrounded by trees, an old quarry and derelict gunpowder mills. Great for a peaceful with a dog, family or by yourself. Parking in the village is usually quite easy with a short up to the woods, not really accessible without a car. We loved our visit to Kennall thanks to the beautiful waterfalls and lots of historic buildings. Parking - there isn’t any specific car park but you can find street parking about 5 mins away. Dogs on leads was a bit restrictive but we enjoyed it all the same Old gunpowder works. Lovely place with lots of interesting things to look at. Fantastic day out with our cocker spaniel, she was in her element with so many places to explore and places to paddle in clean flowing water..free entry, park car in road before the hill to the entrance..then up the hill towards the entrance to the park.. Beautiful woods, has something magical to it. You can park nearby in the town on Kennal vale or on park cress next to te school i.e. It’s a short from there to the nature reserve. Highly recommend!
