Very nice crêperie on the opposite of the castle of Duras. Very nice overlooking view. The restaurant is vibrant and the atmosphere is relaxed and good! The owner is a very friendly man who knows how to be a host. Food is delicious and made with love. Desserts are big but very tasteful. Will come here again! Had a fabulous meal here in a group of 5, each person had only nice things to say. Definitely need to book in advance as walk-ins are often turned away, this is a very popular place for good reason. Would reccomend the Duck breast with honey sauce. Or any of the fish dishes. Reasonable price for the high quality food, I don't mind paying ~€19 for a very good meal. TL;DR - Would reccomend, book in advance. Visited here last night for dinner. We had the hot dog galette and the five cheese galette and they were delicious. The waitress was lovely as was the chef who came out the kitchen to chat to us. Would recommend. Better than we expected. We were looking for a restaurant for lunch, having been assured that there were plenty of various levels & types in Duras. Having failed to find a proper restaurant we chose this snack bar. They did mix up our order, our drinks didn't arrive, but the food was good for what it was. It arrived quickly & was hot. Very pleased really as they were busy & we'd clearly hit them smack in their busy lunchtime trade. It was very reasonably priced & we hadn't been charged for the missing drinks, so there was probably just a misunderstanding. This was the best part of our visit to Duras, as not only could we not find the "plenty of restaurants " we also could not find the lake we had been assured was on the outskirts of the town. In frustration we didn't bother to visit the chocolate factory/shop either. Had a really great meal here with friends. We were not planning to eat here, but everything else was closed. So glad we did. Will definitely come back again. Unfortunately a bad experience. No children’s menu. Hardly no vegetarian options. When asked if 2 of our party could have a dessert crepe and a drink rather than the main crep (due to lack of vegetarian options) we were told no, only allowed after a main. So we then asked if they could share a main crepe, due to the possibility of waste and then have a dessert crepe. We could but they would charge us a 10 euro surcharge!! No flexibility. There would have been 7 of us dining, they lost at least a €180 this evening. We shall spend our money elsewhere. In response to the below. 2 children wanted to share a main dish and then have a dessert each after and a drink each. Which you then wanted to charge us €10 for the privilege. We have been visiting France every year for 17 years and never had an issue. It was 8:30pm. There was 7 in our party and only 2 (children) wanted to share. Like I said we went elsewhere. The food is actually very nice, the wine list is quite expensive for local wines. The service was not great, snarky waitress and then when we requested the bill at our table. We were told we had to go to the bar and look at it on the screen, which is highly unusual. They refused to print us a copy. When we went to pay, the chef/owner started harassing us about wanting the bill. It was rather unpleasant and left a nasty taste after what could’ve been a nice experience We have never been treated this rude in La Douce France.. we had to make a reservation for lunch apparently, but we didn't know that. So we sat, seeing the place was empty. Then we were asked if we had made a reservation in a very inpolite way. We said no and were told to leave. We understand that a reservation is needed, but you can inform us without being rude.
