Don't forget to use the free toilet at the parking lot 😉 The beginning of this trail is steep, and there are multiple sections of stone sherpa stairs that can get quite large. This is 4km/2.5 miles to the viewpoint. Not hard to pull off to the side for a quick break. It's a highly traveled trail, so you won't get lost but you may feel that you are in a crowd much of the way depending on time of day/year. This was the busiest hike I've done in Norway by a long shot. Definitely worth visiting but you must be patient with the amount of traffic and the line up of people to take photos. Easy hike, has some elevation but it's a short hike, we completed it in less then 3 hours, definitely worth visiting. Parking is a paid parking with lots of spots available. Good trail, but very touristic. Better start at a very early time! We (inexperienced hikers) took around 2,5h up and 2h down. Beautiful view from the top if you're lucky as we were, could be cloudy as well even in the summertime. Worth it 😉 Breathtaking ❤️ Go with a good hiking boots, water, snacks and a lot of optimism It's not for the faint of heart. It is a long and quite hard walk. You have to be prepared to walk a lot. Take water and food. Good hiking shoes. Is it worth? Absolutely. First of all, I would like to start by saying that it is a very artificial hike. I think there are very smooth roads made of stone to be accessed by everyone, signs every 50m, wooden bridges, there are even wooden boards there so that people do not pass through the mud. (: Nevertheless, there are many people who come with open-toed shoes and hold on to each other, so it is useful to bring proper clothing and equipment. Another issue is the flies... I have never encountered such a sticky and biting army of flies in my life. It is incredibly uncomfortable and it is better to go in the evening. Also, because it is very touristic, there are people lining up to take a photo at the arrival point, so I have mixed feelings about this place. 3 out of 5.
