I discovered it by accident and loved it. Jørpelandsholmen is a small where you can go fro a stroll. there are plenty of barbecue areas, and you can play Disc Golf. You can a look at the Norwegian Stonehenge, which is on another island. A lovely park which is easily accessible via a footbridge from the town. There are plenty of picnic benches and BBQ spots in the park, plus some nice little rocky beaches, wood carvings, geocaches and a frisbee golf course. The only things it's lacking are some toilets and a children's play area. Very nice park stablished on a island. Excellent for picnics. Delicious little spot that offers a very good balance between nature and access to facilities/civilization. You are in an with cute animals going around you, but at the same time you are can walk for 10 minutes and find a food store or a restaurant. Having your boat in the peer is pure tranquility because you rarely get waves (mostly only when other boats drive by you) and you’re also very protected from wind. A friend that lives nearby tells me that they always have 1-2C more than other regions and the week I spent there made me inclined to believe it. It was deliciously warm the whole time. The area is equipped with a nicely kept toilet facility. Kids have plenty to do with a playground that is brand new and modern. Adults and older kids have beautiful trails to explore. Visited Solspeiet (Norway's Stonehenge). The opposite the monument is a good park for strolls and BBQ Discovered it by accident. What a lovely place where you can spend the day with the family. Kids playing in nature, some easy hiking, frisbee golf, etc. Amazing views. Wonderful to relax! Jørpelandsholmen is a small where you can go to, to have a barbecue, play a game of Disc Golf, take a look at the Norwegian Stonehenge, look at the awesome wooden sculptures, go for a run or enjoy the wonderful athmosphere. In short, there is enough to do! 9/10 would recommend.
