The main issue is that we had to wait for over an hour for our food which wasn't even fancy. There weren't a large number of clients either. The waiters appologized two times that it takes such a long time, even without having inquired ourselves. We also had two small children which made the wait even more frustrating. One waiter who brought straws for the children sneezed in his hands right before he handed the us straws with the same hand. The burgers and fries were very salty. The pasta for children is embarrassingly non-complicated. I needed to change the diaper and couldn't find a changing corner. I ended up doing it on the floor. As said, I think it was a rare occurrence of wrongly aligned constellations... I hope so. The place is rather nice, the views are very beautiful. Parking available. The food was a big disappointment. • Tagliatelle: Overcooked and lacking any finesse. • Baked potatoes: Old, oily, and clearly pre-boiled far too early. • Burger: Served with cheap, shop-bought sauces and very average in taste — honestly, I’ve had better at Burger King. The only redeeming element was the slice of goat cheese. • No bruschetta, no ice cream, no chocolate cake — just a few dry, unappealing cakes with poor presentation. The service was equally underwhelming. Staff were slow, unprofessional, loud, and shouted to each other in Albanian across the room, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. It’s a shame, because the location offers stunning views. We’re staying at the hotel, but for the next two dinners we’ll gladly walk half an hour to the village to eat somewhere we’ve enjoyed in past years. Beautiful location, views, food, service! We visited twice and had a time. The super friendly staff, food and beautiful view of the lake make this place a choice for a wonderful evening. My husband and I loved the Hubertus Restaurant so much that we ate all of our meals there during our three-day visit to the Schluchsee area. Stephan and his partner Francisca do a wonderful job of preparing excellent meals for their guests. I have some food allergies and the kitchen did a fine job of creating tasty vegan, gluten-free meals that I enjoyed each and every time we dined. For those of you in search of a delicious plant-based meal, I highly recommend Hubertus—but the non-vegan diners in the restaurant also seemed beyond satisfied. Can we talk about the view?
