Dom St. Blasien is a stunning cathedral located in the charming town of St. Blasien, deep in the Black Forest. The highlight is its enormous dome, which is one of the largest in Europe. The exterior is imposing, but the interior is even more breath-taking with its bright white walls, elegant columns, and a serene, spiritual atmosphere. It feels open, airy, and full of light, offering a peaceful place for reflection or simply admiring the architecture. The acoustics here are incredible. The surrounding area is also beautiful, with great hiking trails nearby. This is a perfect stop for anyone exploring the Black Forest region or for those who appreciate grand architecture. Highly recommended for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a moment of tranquillity. Impressive structure with biggest cupola north of the Alps 🅿️ there is also handicapped parking very close to the church (left side) - plus there is a wheelchair accessible side entrance also on the left side Quite an ornate sight to see. quite stunning building in a small town, absolutely unexpected. Great example of past German splendor in its neoclassical style. Absolutely worth a visit. Makes you feel small and humble 😂 Came for the huge earth artwork Gaia, the huge Dome size is solemn to present this artwork with the hymn play. Let us rethink the humankind as one of a tiniest creation. We drove by St. Blasien by chance and then saw this huge cathedral in the middle of the Black Forest. We decided to stop and visit. And wow, what a cathedral it is! Not the typical gold-covered altars as one would expect but white marble (?) stones. Definitely one of the most cathedrals I've ever seen! Great surprise in the black forest, the cathedral is impressive from outside and even more impressive from inside. The inside is very bright and majestic with the marble ground and the white columns. We were lucky to be there when a chorus was singing the echo make it very beautiful. Very ornate church with a huge dome. Mass was ending when we visited and there was a lovely calm peaceful atmosphere around the building. FREE ENTRY. Huge dom with white marble interior. Its a great restoration of the previous burned dom. Paid car park nearby until 18h00 on week days so I recommend going after that hour which leaves a 30 minute window do see the dom. A world Wonder in white marble worth to visit even when detouring for an hour! A MustSee in the Black Forest, ohne of the largest domed buildings in Europe and purely beautiful!
