Very pleased to find that we could still hand the animals- giraffes, zebra emus goats and more... but also very impressed with the extensive remodeling that's taken place over the last couple of decades.and is evidently still in progress. Feels like a lot of thought has gone into providing a stimulating environment for the animals. I had never been to a French zoo before and had assumed an similar to Dublin Zoo...it's very different. Firstly the are far closer and more "accessible". The first for the flamingos is literally inside the front door, and they are arms length away at points. The flamingos looked vibrant and happy in the 30 degree sunshine, flaunting their sunny pinkness to their Dublin comrades. Our first port of call was the Giraffes...where u can literally them from your hand!! My first impression was I'm back in a Victorian Zoo, with an elephant ride up next...but I really enjoyed it!! Seeing the up close is a completely different experience. I'm sure there are raging debates in zoologist circles about the wisdom of hand feeding popcorn...But they certainly seemed to enjoy it. My son loves and this blew his mind. There is a lot to do and see, and on a warm day we picked out a few highlights. There is an amphitheatre where u can watch the sea lions perform tricks for food. 2 shows daily but we missed this. Wouldn't be a big fan of this so not bothered. The elephant again was far more accessible, there is a small mote with almost 360 degrees viewing angles. U could buy some sort of nuts to the elephants. I was initially horrified as I could see people throwing things across to the elephants, before I realized it was allowed. Kinda not sure about this. Turned this majestic animal into a Jack Russel looking for treats (with killer tusks). The was very large, so I guess they could wander off if it was bothering them 😕 Towards the back of the zoo there are chimps and orangutans. Given the scorcher of a day these were flaked out in the shade. Their was huge with an indoor area too. Lots of waterfalls, Jurassic Park vibes. We finished the trip seeing alligators and reptiles! There is plenty to do and see, with food options too. Huge free car park beside it, about €74 for a family ticket for 4. Worth a visit if u are in the area. A really well kept zoo, spotlessly clean with decent sized enclosures. The don't seem stressed. A good point: you can get face to face with the giraffes. A down point: the sealion show was only in the afternoon so we missed it. Wow... Such a great experience. Family of 3 and we loved it. The zoo was impeccably clean and the staff were all super friendly. Being able to get so close to the is amazing. Feeding the Giraffes, zebra, ostrich, goats and Tortoise is such a great experience, my daughter absolutely loved it. They sell pop corn to the animals.. this is a must do as it adds so much fun to the day. There is a very large array of to see and you just keep getting wowed by them. I would most certainly recommend this zoo to anyone thinking of visiting. There are vending machines around the park for drinks that are dated and don’t accept NFC payments. Don’t forget cash. Sea lion show was impressive back in the day but has lost its luster over the years. Kids still enjoyed it but as an adult found it missing something this time around. Was a bit busy near the entrance but the zoo is quite big so it spread out more once you got further into the park. Cool and loads of monkeys. Enclosures were relatively large and the animals, especially the monkeys near the back had enough space to live in. Would recommend when in the area. Feeding the was also very fun Beautiful zoo. Sea lion show is good but gets very full - I'd advise getting a seat at least half an hour before the show starts This is the first zoo I liked from the first sight. There are a lot of different and birds 🦁🦭🐒🦍🦩🦜🐘🦛🦒🐢🦏The territory is well planned. You can find toilets there and a place for mums with babies, even a microwave to heat some food. Also there are places for eating, benches for rest, places where you can relax, enjoy nature ,observing animals. It was a wonderful 4 hours journey 🥰🥰🥰 Really nice zoo with large variety of animals. Allow most of a day as there is a lot to see. We visited on an August public holiday so it was busy at some points but the site is large so did not feel too busy. Most of the zoo is very nice with some lovely new enclosures. Feeding the ostriches and the kids petting zoo was a highlight for kids. Amazing Zoo, set in a woodland. Great variety of animals, the enclosures looked very good and the staff is friendly. However, when emus are stealing the maps from visitors and goats are getting stuck in backpacks (causing a ten-minute stampede in the petting zoo), you could argue it needs a little more supervision. Lovely zoo with really close access to the including giraffes, rhino's and zebras. Far better than any UK zoo we have been too. Our favourite was the goat where you get to then by hand. Takes about 4.5 hours to get round. Reasonably priced for, excellent free car parking and overall great value for€22. Definitely recommend adults or kids and makes a welcome change from the beach. Amazing day that was well worth the money! We visited in August and despite it being busy we never felt that it was overcrowded. We absolutely loved the opportunity to the with the (€2.50 just after entering). The sea lion show isn’t one to miss either, but get there early to get a seat!
