Nice clean pebbly beach. Signs up saying no dogs between April and end September but this was clearly being ignored by a number of dog owners. Otherwise good long stretch of with plenty of room to spread out. Toilets nearby too. Lots of very close by (literally 100 yards away). Just over £2 for four hours wasn't unreasonable. Nice quiet beach. Definately a pebble beach. However at low tide there is a bit of sand. It was okay for dogs but not the best due to the pebbles. I would not want to come here at high tide. The sandy bit is only exposed at the very low tides (pictures taken at low tide). There is a free car park South of Thorpeness. All seemed clean although the sea is not crystal clear due to the sand Took my grandson and my daughter. There had such a time on the when voting at the lake and had some food. A great day out at the shingle beach! What an amazing place to visit. Well worth it Quite shame the coloured houses had scaffolding on Very and safe place to spend time with family and children.... restaurants available, card payment facility, facility available, toi near to the beach, speciality of this is one side thorpeness and on the other side is thorpeness meare with beautiful swans and boating...Very good experience Beautiful and quiet beach. Not very busy. Pebbles and lots of space in different levels when we visited. Enough width for playing football on the upper level. Buildings view from the is beautiful and nice for photo shoots. stretch of right on the outskirts of picturesque Thorpness. You can walk to Aldeburgh very easily from here. Only one negative point, which is the lack of and most isn't free. People start wherever they want, so they start clogging up the access roads. Other than that, well worth a visit. Quiet with views down to Aldbrough and the radio masts at Orford in the distance. Can be very windswept but has a calm feel to it. Cafe nearby with the boating lake behind. Like almost all British beaches, the experience is spoiled by poor and expensive charges. Despite the Suffolk tourism websites insisting that the whole is dog friendly all year. the central portion is no dogs in summer. We love coming here for a nice walk along the beach. Thorpeness is a beautiful place with lots to do for all the family - boat trips, feeding the ducks, restaurants & cafes and the peaceful beach. Nice shingle ! Beautiful beach. Love walking from thorpeness to Sizewell, footpath. In season ( when warm) vegetation on the is fabulous, colours, and variety of flowers and plants on shingles. Love it! Great quiet place in a hot weather. Not far from Clacton-on-sea. I recommend to go there if you want to rest on sanded beach. Also the water was good for swim and play.
