A mediocre experience, staff was falling behind on orders. Wasn't really greeting customers and our supposedly hot coffees were cold. It's a nice spot but it can benefit from customer service and rush hour handling training. Extra busy during bank holiday weekend. Seemed a bit understaffed. They couldn't keep up with cleaning the tables. The queue was long but staff was moving fast. Great coffee. Nice seating areas. One star for atmosphere as the cafe was being renovated and it was basically eat your food and go unless you were sitting outside. This is a walkers/hikers stop off point and is very busy The cakes we purchased were very nice as were our milkshakes. The service was excellent. I suffer from food allergies and the young man who served us took his time to thoroughly check the ingredients. Knocked off a star as I felt it was quite expensive. 2 lattes 2 sausage baps and an extra sausage for our dog came to £26. However the service is super friendly it was clean, the sausage baps are delicious, the views great and it was a great place to shelter from a typical Lake District short downpour. I can imagine this place would get very busy in high season but a September week day was very relaxing. Stopped here for some lunch. The queue was fairly long and service seems slow, but the staff are friendly and the food is good, lovely place to sit and chill. The WiFi isn’t great Friendly, welcoming staff. We were served quickly and didn’t have to wait long for our order. I didn’t get her name but one lady who serviced us was so helpful, she gave us directions to find the highland cows and was so lovely! Hot chocolate is delicious :) toilets and cafe are extremely clean and welcoming. Waited to be served and seated greated by a middle aged blonde woman with an attitude problem! Very aggressive demeanor All I asked was " do you have a table in the corner" greeted by a sarcastic answer "we are dog friendly,And a muffle!!! I left it No problem to be dog friendly but to put dogs before humans !! Is totally wrong it was absolutely pouring it down !!! The lakes are stunning but completely full of snobs avoid if you want a relaxing atmosphere it was 20 of constant barking !!! Always stop here for delicious cakes and drinks when we are in the area. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Particular shout out to Suzanne and her excellent customer service. We arrived with our newborn baby who needed feeding and I asked if I could have a seat whilst my husband waited in the queue. Suzanne had no issues with this sbd showed me to a seat straight away which was greatly appreciated as this made our (and likely other customers!) visit more relaxing.
