The service is very good and the drinks available would suit most visitors. However our friends were not impressed with the railway carriages or the atmosphere which we found disappointing as it's a unique experience we thoroughly enjoyed. The art deco surroundings are stunning and the food and service were excellent. Very efficient and friendly staff throughout the site, and well worth a visit if you're in the area (or if you want a day out!). Wine tasting evening was fun and very enjoyable. Not highbrow, just relaxed. Breakfast the following morning was excellent. Staff efficient and friendly. So popular that you'll probably need to book, even for breakfast. Amazing atmosphere ruined by one particular staff member who policed our dog and made us feel unwelcome. She said we should better control the dog, who was behaving just fine. We got through tea which was nice, but not stellar (the cream or jam aren’t made in house, for example) and didn’t linger, which was a shame as we paid £36 pp for afternoon tea. We’ve been to much better ‘dog friendly’ places, so leave your dog at home if you have a choice. They really shouldn’t accept dogs- it’s like allowing only well behaved babies. Photo of my dog below. Great for special occasions or breakfast. Afternoon teas are awesome! The BEST Afternoon Tea we’ve ever been to and we’ve done a lot! Not just your average afternoon tea either. The menu was just incredible. So original and full of flavour it was a mix of cold and hot, sweet and savoury all perfectly executed. We cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were very attentive and the setting was fun. It is £36pp which isn’t cheap BUT what you get for your £36 is worth every penny and more. You will not be disappointed!!
