The Belle View pub has recently got new owners so living in the village we were eager to pay it a visit. Going in only 1 hour after its opening could have been risky but the welcome we received was warm and friendly and we were very happy with all aspects of our meal. The menu was varied and the food as cooked fresh to order. I had fish and and the batter was lovely. Not too thick and no hint of grease. Husband had the ham hock which was tender and flavoursome. Looks like the pub which has always been well loved by its locals is back to doing what it does best. Pay a visit, we will definitely come back again. Very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. staff that served us and was very attentive. The food was sooo good I wish I had room for dessert I called in today and I was pleasantly surprised to be told anything done in batter was Gluten Free along with the chips. Being a Coeliac this was music to my ears as any other Coeliacs will know. I chose the lite bite fish and @ £12. It was delicious and more than enough for me.The service was and will certainly be visiting again. Highly recommend 👌 Booked a table for myself and family to eat here today for Sunday lunch. Food was exceptional, we ended up treating ourselves to starters mains & desserts! (Didn’t get pics of starters as was too tempting to eat first!) We met the new manager Debbie, who gave us a very warm welcome and herself & the rest of the staff couldn’t do enough for us, catering to the young children we had aswell! Table was set up with high chairs etc everything was & clean, baby changing and accessible toilets available We will certainly be back and would recommend for all to try! Positives: decor with a nice homely feel, warm and inviting with a good sized car park. Very waitress who was attentive and caring towards both us and our dogs. Negatives: Despite the menu looking very appetising and advertising home made produce this was clearly not the case. We had the stacker burger and were left very disappointed. Cheap quality burgers and that you would expect to find from a snack van on the side of the road. Tasted like wholesalers ingredients for premium prices and therefore skipped desert for chocolate in the hotel. On visiting the lakes in the future we will not be eating here again unfortunately. Family of 4 Roast beef all round Staff were friendly and attentive Kids dont do veg so they got extra potatoes and two massive Yorkshire puddings each. The Food was fantastic Will definitely be back We went for Sunday lunch. I got the lamb,it was terrible it was all fat and gristle. I would have had more meat off a lamb chop. Portion size was small to start with. My husband had beef and said it tasted nice but only 2 small slices. Sorry won't be back.
