These are just stunning, the planting when we visited ( late May) was exquisite. If the planting was not enough the formal Elizabethan cloisters with the framed views of the formal pond is delightful. Trilliums, orchids, acers, whisteria walk etc. etc. What can i say, if you like and plants then well worth a visit The cafe is also very well done with staff. I found the to be a mix of formal and informal spaces and had some amazing trees and plants. I spent about two here and l highly recommend going to the tea room and trying the Welsh cakes, they were delicious 😋😋😋 l would definitely recommend coming here. We spent a few wandering the paths and could’ve easily stayed longer. The on-site café is also worth a visit – great coffee and homemade cakes in a setting. Food reasonably priced and tasty. Friendly helpful staff. This place is a must see, if you are in the area I would recommend that you take a few to enjoy these gardens. I had a wonderful time discovering this place last Sunday, the weather was a little inclement but I was able to really appreciate the scents, colours and different forms of plants on display. Full marks to the gardening team and I shall be returning in the not too distant future. What a beautiful Spring day to visit these beautiful gardens! We spent 7 strolling around the grounds in the sunshine, stopping off at the (and very reasonably priced) tea room for lunch and later, for afternoon coffee. I bought a few plants at the shop on my way out. A very peaceful and joyful day out in nature, far away from a world of chaos. If you’ve got a few spare and want to spend it in a truly pleasurable environment, you’ve got it here! Reasonably priced, with extensive gardens, shop and excellent cafe. It’s a perfect place to loose most of a day in the sunshine and see how a derelict building and gardens, can be turned into a real gem of a place Absolutely lovely. We've been a few times over the years but despite the long dry spell in summer of 2025, it's the best we've ever seen it. The team who tend these must really put the work in, and love their jobs.
