Beautiful short walk. Can be a long one if you want to plan it with a larger radius, we just walked along the stream and back. It would suit many types of visitors. We mostly saw dog owners, but would suit families, couples (for sure, very romantic!). If you have small kids be careful going near water and steep hills. Nature is so varied there! Kind of a mixture of spots with pines, pond life, herds of rabbits, farmer's sheep, chicken, so many birds. Those strange mini-hills, more than 7 for sure! A bit spooky to see many places along the path with soil falling in. Erosion in action everywhere.Must be unique geologically too, just pay attention to the rocks. Somewhat similar to Belsay Hall, only without much human presence, no hall or other buildings, and more varied A wonderful place! See photos. Its awful here, I would love to say, but it isn't, its beautiful. I just want to keep it a secret! A very peaceful, restful place. A place which recharges your soul and weather depending blows away the cobwebs. The dogs love paddling through the stream and investigating all the sniffs! Great place to enjoy the peace and quiet and explore nature. Depending on the time of year can be overrun with frogs and if lucky might see some ducks too! Nice place to take a picnic, relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. Usually an icecream van parked up too during busier periods for a little treat. Ps remember to take your litter home with you, its a beautiful place, keep it that way! Nice place to stop.. Some spend all day there... Absolutely gorgeous place to visit. The scenery there is just breathtaking! Wonderful place to spend a day with a family. Free parking available (no overnight stay), there was an ice cream van when we visited, people doing BBQs etc. Gorgeous walking area through the old Quarry and over the hill past the old kilns. The river is a popular spot, and actually seems pretty clean given the amount of people in the area. Have visited a few times in the past, and will visit again in the future. Excellent place to walk the dog too! Great place to spend with kids and dogs. Take a picnic as theres only an ice cream van that stops nearby. Lovely tranquil spot A beautiful scenic area. Had a lovely long walk. Saw plenty of sheep grazing & grouse flitting across the Moor. Great to see so many Dippers in the burn. Plenty of space to park. Lovely walk out, nice hiking track to go along. You can either go up and down the hills or around the bottom. It's really quiet with a nice stream. it's really relaxing. I also seen geese, sheep, rabbits, and other birds along the the track. One of my favourite places to visit. Bridge is broken, a sign would've helped to say this at the beginning but never mind Lovely place to visit, so scenic. You can stay on the flat and have an easy stroll or take on the hills for more of a challenge. Found it easy to navigate to, decent sized parking. Even if it's busy, you still don't feel like you're surrounded by many people. Bonus point, even the ice cream van shows up! A great place for all the family. Plenty to explore, a bubbling brook and beautiful scenery. This is somewhere you'll go back to. Great beautie spot on the way to Barnard Castle it was great for photos and listening to the birds singing.
