It was a great experience to spend a night here. Staff was really friendly and helpful, dining room with fireplace was nice. We were not lucky on views, but it was worth anyway! A beautifully located hut 🌄. Cosy interior, young and welcoming staff 👨‍🦱👱‍♀️. I highly recommend having a stop at the shelter during winter season ☃️, and have a cup of hot bombardino 🥃 The shelter, and the Piz Boe peak itself 🏔 are very nicely visible from far away, which helps massively when you're navigating 🧭 in bad conditions. The shelter is easily accessible from Sas de Pordoi, even in winter. What an amazing place!! The views are absolutely unbeatable and you will have both sunset and sunrise. As one would expect, accommodation and food are spartan but considering the location this is an incredibly well organised hospitality, with some 10 staff for 30ish guests. Great Refugio, they helped me a lot as well. I had an unfortunate slip next to the Refugio, tearing my hand open. They helped me clean and bandage the nasty wound, to make sure I was able to descend safety. And they asked for nothing in return as well. I'm still really greatful for the help, especially the waitress who took care of me, despite having to see and deal with the really nasty wound. Thanks again, you were awesome! I also had dinner here, it was really great. Simple and tasty as well. Stunning place 3.1km up amongst the clouds perched on a peak in the Dolomites. This place as you’d expect is not the height of luxury, but the place cannot be beaten on location and atmosphere. The food and drink were nicely organised and the rooms were functional and even have power to charge the phones. No working shower due to lack of water , but the views made up for it . Amazing to see both sunset and sunrise from there. We arrived from west (Piz Boe) which was a slightly harder climb , but still doable. But the path up from south was definitely easier going Visit here every week during the summer with guests. Not worth the stop. Too busy, queues too long for the toilet, queues too long to pay, what should be a pleasurable stop for food and drink becomes very frustrating and time consuming. Easier to pack a picnic. Where do i even begin.. this has been my most memorable stay in the dolomites, words cant describe. We hiked from the very bottom of Piz boe and were greeted with the warmest smiles, the staff were cool, everything was well thought out. Really unique experience that i will do again in a heartbeat. They even give you crocs and a 3 course dinner. We also got a cloud inversion which was on my bucket list so 10/10! The rooms and bathroom were very clean and modern. Sure small but what else do you expect? The dinner was absolutely amazing -every single thing absolutely delicious and filling& the team was nice and funny. Absolutely worth a visit and the price!
