There's only one down side so let's start with the positive... I start judging the (espresso) coffee. I've not tasted it in every place in Ventimillia but many, and so far, this is the best. The cocktails have a remarkably agreable price. And taste good. There's a nice choice of smoothies if you wish to refrain from alcohol. You won't feel let down. At the end of the day, there's a really tasty complementary choice of finger food to work up an appetite. I haven't had plated food yet but my neighbours judged it as great. So the only down side is that it's on the corner of the main street through Ventimiglia and that makes it at least noisy. But the service is so good (quick, attentive, accurate and friendly) that one will overlook this inconvenience. For me the only reason to stay with four stars. I will frequent the place though, whenever I'm around. (Twice a year for a forthnigh, mostly.) Best thing to say is we got a table in the sun and ordered promptly. However, everything that followed was disappointing. From 2 tables complaining about the tiramisu being frozen tasting- the woman at the table next to us puking her lunch discreetly on the side. The photo in the of the salmon penne showed large chunks of fish in the pasta. However, when it arrived there were No Chunks of fish , just shavings of the brown part of the fish. Unappealing and unappetizing. The gave the standard answer we heard circulating around the patio “it’s homemade” . Would be really surprised to see anything at that restaurant being homemade/ or not frozen. The did ask if she could bring something else….no one took her up on the offer. We left- half finished to seek dessert elsewhere. Very disappointed. Unfriendly waitor ignored us for over 15 Minutes after we asked for a menu. I recommend to find another place for your pizza! Do not think about getting a drink in this place. btw theres a place much better with similar prices and excellent drinks, just around the corner. + they offered us free snacks with the drinks.. From the very start of our encounter with this lady i became uncomfortable. We were a table of 4 muslim girls and the proceeded to rudely throw Drinks menus to us. Evidently as muslims we dont drink. We then proceeded to ask for food menus, to which her reply was “we dont have any food im here all alone” and then proceeded to lost half the menu…. We left. We came back to take this picture and complain to the manager about how we were racially profiled and abused. She kept squaring up to me when i just wanted to talk to the manager. She then slapped my phone out of my hand. The manager never came. Before the had a chance to go further, and violate my personal space any more we decided to leave. We went to Piazza Caffè in Ventimiglia for lunch. The photos looked appealing and the terrasse was charming, but everything went downhill from there. I ordered a meat dish that looked red and juicy on the menu—but what I received was a pale, white piece of meat smothered in a jelly-like, revolting sauce. The potatoes were undercooked and hard, completely inedible. I took one bite and stopped. My friend had the cannelloni di magro, which looked and tasted like a cheap frozen meal. Absolutely no flavor, texture, or quality. We informed the waiter and asked to send both plates back (they were basically untouched), and we weren’t even offered a simple apology, let alone a compensation or a discount. We ended up paying €40 for a disgusting meal we didn’t even eat. On top of that, the toilets were filthy, with insects crawling around—completely unacceptable for a restaurant. It's our first day of vacation for this month and we were very excited to spend it here in Ventimiglia. Seeing the nice view of the place, we were looking forward to eat an amazing dish. However, beginning from the to the service and food, i must say it was an awful experience. The was filthy, it was full of grime and oil. It was even smelly. The food was very disappointing: we ordered margherita and milanese fritte. The fried ones very dry and overcooked while the pizza, there were hair in it 2 out of 3 pizzas. When we asked the waiters, they just laughed and got the plate from us. 20 mins have passed and yet the another was not still cooked and the server responded in very disturbing manner. Even cut us off when we were trying to ask how many minutes should we wait more. Overall, the experience was awful. I don't see myself coming back nor recommending it to my colleagues. Amazing atmosphere ruined by cuckolded waiters and frozen food. Waiters looking around doing anything but serving customers. Siamo stati in questo locale e purtroppo abbiamo dovuto aspettare oltre un’ora prima di riuscire a mangiare. La disorganizzazione è stata totale: nessuno sapeva quale tavolo avesse ordinato cosa, e a un certo punto ci è arrivato un semplice bicchiere di vino nonostante avessimo ordinato una bottiglia intera. Un vero peccato, perché le persone sembrano gentili, ma la gestione è caotica e trasmette un’impressione di completa incompetenza. Non basta la buona volontà: per lavorare in questo settore serve organizzazione e attenzione al cliente, e purtroppo qui mancano del tutto. Insomma rimandati a settembre, c’è tanto da migliorare! Had to wait for 1 hour for an overly oily and uncooked pizza. The toppings were just thrown on top. We missed our train for waiting for that long. We asked for a discount, but the service was awful and the was rude. The reasoning behind the wait was that they had to make "1000 pizzas" that day.
