Me and my friend were stuck with our bikes in the middle of a storm in Gemund and they were so nice to open up a room for us. We even got to put our bikes away safely. The rooms are clean and the bed felt amazing after our camping nights. The hosts are super nice and despite the language barrier they were most helpful. Also, the breakfast is great! Corona proof and still able to make you feel at home. My wife and I recently stayed at the pension as part of walking the Eifelsteig, and found the accommodations to be excellent. Clean, modern, and and very good, fresh breakfast in which the owner went out of her way to accommodate our vegan diet, which was not always the case in the hotels and pensions we stayed at. Highly recommended. It's a beautiful guesthouse, tastefully modernised with pine panelled walls, patio doors and a small balcony in the rooms. The people that manage it are very worried about Covid and have established their own policy of masks and requesting that guests show vaccination certificates. No other German accommodation I have stayed in recently does this and it is not official German policy at the moment, which makes it seem a bit odd. Stranger still is that I was asked to stay after all (albeit grumpily) even though I couldn't show a certificate and offered to leave. Combined with the very curtailed check in and check out times (16.30-19; 9-10), this place just didn't feel very welcoming.
