Amazing place for a good and fabulous when you get up there. Great focal point and easilly got to from the upper carpark , super views. Wonderful of the Carlingford Lough and surrounding villages. It's quite a steep climb on a dirt and gravel trail but well worth it for the panoramic vista. A big rock with a big view but somehow it was underwhelming. Its only a short stiff up to it from the top carpark so no bother. We paid 5 pound (actualy 4.5 pound cos we didnt have 5) but sadly I didnt see the value in it or the general location. Yes its great and a solid big rock with many names scratched into it however give me a Dolmen or a court tomb any day. By all means check it out for yourself and if you enjoy walks or hikes then you will probably enjoy this experience. The of Carlingford Lough, Kilbroney Forest and Slieve Martin are truly spectacular. There are a variety of walks from the bottom carparks or the higher car park. All have steep climbs but the higher carpark is a short walk. A great sunny day with some great shots at the top. Would highly recommend climbing to the top when the sun is out and the sky is clear of mist to ensure the best views! The isn’t that steep and it’s a relatively short to the top. Its very challenging from the very bottom, but for less advanced people, you are able to drive about 80-90% of thrle journey. The are spectacular! Especially standing on top of the stone Drive up the mountain till the last car park, 10 minute hike to the stone, but be sure to continue to the top of the mountain if possible. Another hour up. Mountain heather and flowers were gorgeous in july.
