After coming across their page on Instagram, I couldn't resist visiting this charming tea room. Upon arrival, the queue for indoor dining was overwhelming, but luckily, they offered outdoor seating which suited us just fine. We were promptly seated and excitedly placed our order. Our selections included the piri piri chicken sandwich, the coronation chicken sandwich, a portion of fries to share, pancakes with strawberries and maple syrup, and two cappuccinos—one with regular milk and one with oat milk. The sandwiches were bursting with flavor from fresh ingredients, and the pancakes were very fluffy and soft. While the coffee was enjoyable, a bolder brew would have been preferred as it felt slightly diluted. The display of tray bakes was a sight to behold, offering a tempting array of choices that had me deliberating for a good 10 minutes. In the end, I settled on the lemon meringue mini pie, lotus rocky road, and kinder blondie, all of which proved to be delightful and perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the total price for everything we got came around 43 pounds. Overall, this spot is definitely worth a visit for its delectable offerings and cozy atmosphere. 💯🙌🏼 The place and the service is lovely, however the food is just good, still have some wee points for improvement, like for example the French toast was not properly well done, it was soggy and not too much flavour. On the other hand, the desserts are excellent. The prices are very reasonable. Great food. And great to see a good selection of veggie options. If there was one thing I'd change is the salad- creamy salads aren't for everyone. The desserts/cakes are incredible. Decent coffee, too. Upon arrival we were surprised to see a queue but it was moving fast and we were sitting at the table before we knew it! The selection and food was amazing and when we went to pay we were greeted by an amazing selection of tray bakes on display. Despite being busy, not once did we feel rushed and we really enjoyed our brunch! Beautiful food and very friendly staff. When sitting inside service is quick and efficient. I love that outside is a dog friendly area right beside the tow path. However taking off one star for the fact that when seated outside, can quite frequently be ignored. On one occasion sat for over 20 minutes with staff walking past me.I couldn’t go inside to ask for a menu as was sitting with my dog. It is better if there are a few of you if you have a family pet and are planning to sit outside so one person can go inside and request a menu and place order at till if needs be. I will start with the positives that the food was beautiful and the staff were nice just the set up let everything down the 30 min wait to get in the building was not great especially when there was a shower of rain. It would be helpful to have a rough estimate of wait time. Once inside and seated the service was quick professional and friendly, the staff were exceptional and where not the let down as the set up of a cafe is down to who runs it. Also there was a line of dirt down the teapot initially I thought it was stain until I made scratches on it with my nail First impression of visiting the premises was one of uncleanliness in the toilets……more like a run down public toilet. The toilet bowls were like galvanised metal buckets ,no toilet lids and water basin and hand dryer not working. Now to the food …….. the breakfast served was mediocre with the bacon having no texture and apparently cooked hours earlier.Egg being served hard and slightly brownish burnt. ………the egg Benedict must always be served with warm hollandaise sauce. The plate was served with cold drizzle and even after requesting extra it also came cold.
