Was a bit cold and damp however wouldn't put us of revisiting again for food (when the weather is better) While the dishes at Holman Clavel Inn, such as the delightful Whitebait, Pork Belly main course, and Chocolate Cheesecake, were delicious, I must note that the service was incredibly slow. 🕒 This aspect detracted from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience. The Whitebait dish 🍽️🐟 offered a taste of the sea, crispy and bursting with flavour. The Pork Belly main course 🍽️🐖 was a culinary masterpiece, featuring tender pork and exquisite seasoning. The luscious Chocolate Cheesecake 🍫🍰 was a delightful finish. Though the slow service was a downside, the flavours and quality of the dishes were commendable. Amazing little pub. The food is amazing good price, polite friendly staff, I definitely will be back. Good portion sizes and the chips are to die for....all freshly cooked 😋keep up the good work... Absolute gem of a pub bit off the beaten track , we stopped over in our camper van (search for sites ) had a meal all food locally sourced the butchers faggots were superb .Real freindly locals and beer , will defo be back 10/10 Returned to the Holman Clavel for the first time in several years but to see the standard of food, drink and service hasn't changed. I had the pork loin from the specials board, and my mum had the lamb rump. Thank you. Lovely Sunday lunch. Booked in advance as we had heard it was hard to get in and we can see that this is true. It was packed! We went with our children (3 and 5) and ordered kids versions for them. I went veggie (nut roast) and my husband had meat. Both delicious. I was also reassured to be told that the potatoes were vegetarian and so was the gravy. The Yorkshire puddings were the best bit for me. They were massive! The kids portion sizes were great. The whole family ate and had drinks for under £60. We'll be back. Amazing place! staff was very welcoming, the food was great! Very large portions and delicious! We had 3 toddlers with us, they welcomed us and arrange for us to sit in a private room. The kitchen opened a bit earlier as well to accommodate our orders. Although we stopped there at random, it is definitely a place I will highly recommend and will go back to!
