Lovely easy walk, kids loved it, plenty of parking, ice-cream van also there. Superb forest park Portglenone Forest Park is a real treasure, especially for locals like us. We're there all the time with our two kids, and it never gets old. There's something for everyone, whether you're after a peaceful stroll or a bit of family fun. There's plenty of open space for the kids to run around. We often bring a picnic and make a day of it, especially in the warmer months. Dog walkers love it here too. There's a real community feel, and you always bump into friendly faces. The paths are well-maintained, and there's a good mix of woodland and open areas. But the real star of the show is the bluebell display in springtime. It's absolutely breathtaking. The whole forest floor turns into this incredible carpet of blue, and the scent is amazing. People come from miles around to see it, and it's easy to see why. Portglenone Forest Park is a special place. It's a bit of countryside right on our doorstep, and we feel lucky to have it. Great forest .plenty of walking for the dog 🐕 or children A great spot. Not too big and pretty much on the flat. Has a nice mix of woodland. Great sized car park with toilets which are open and well maintained. Wasn't too busy when we went. Will certainly be back in the other seasons. Visited it in January. £5 car park for the full day which is a bit much, the longer lasts around an hour depending how fast or slow you walk. When we got there it was raining but surprising little wind so was a good walk. Great with different routes, lenghts, and elevations. Facilities open and clean. What an absolute beauty of a spot. Lived here 10 years and so sad I never visited before now! Def going to add this to my dog walking spots. Such a big open space on pathways, dog friendly and the bluebells in May (late spring) were just something out of a dream! No litter seen which is always a great sign and long may it last! Very well kept trees and clearly attention to detail in the hidden garden in the centre which was such a beautiful touch. Highly recommended for a walk. I love visiting Portglenone Forest, especially when the bluebells are in bloom. The woodland floor is carpeted in a haze of blue and its lovely to along the paths taking it all in. There is a decent sized car park, public toilets which are well maintained and some picnic tables too. Definitely worth a visit.
