Eventually by 11 30 we had enough didn't feel safe a d felt very vulnerable as on our own so we packed up inside and then took screen off and unhooked electric and just drove out into the night to find a layby or something further away was gutted we paid 21.60 and couldn't stay never again 😞 Great picnic spot down by river What a peaceful spot on an early sunny Sunday morning, my wife and I stopped at the Marina and enjoyed the sounds and smells of the river over a nice cuppa tea. The view of the arched bridge where fantastic the far bank up from the bridge had a good few anglers out trying their luck in catching a trout ride two. A canoeist paddled by slightly puffing against the flow. All in all a well worth rest stop with a cup of tea or coffee and awesome company . There is lots to do to at Portglenone Marina when everything opens again, a large park, outdoor gym a brilliant children’s play ground and all of it in good condition and well looked after. I highly recommend any one stop and spend sometime at Portglenone Marina. Stopped here as they have motorhome parking, water and facilities at a reasonable price......but the visit was marred by the amount of litter around.....despite loads of litter bins.... River Ban tours does an excellent 45 minute child friendly trip up the river and back for reasonable cost. Beautiful wee hidden gem.
