Very high quality windswept fine grasses, the greens are beautiful. Fun layout and for thinking golfers… It needs to be played! A golf course - one of the finest inland courses England has to offer! Amazing greens in superb condition. Unique holes that off beauty, risks and rewards! A challenge to play the course A must visit on any golfers list!! Plenty of Opens run during the year and the clubhouse and catering is fantastic! A day out We hosted our daughters wedding here in January. From the moment we spoke to Jo we knew it was going to be a venue. The views from the sun lounge are just stunning and as we discussed different options with Jo it became clear that she had some ideas and nothing was too much trouble. The whole club has a lovely atmosphere and there is the snooker table area which we knew would appeal to some of our guests as well as space for the DJ in the evening. Chris and Kirsty provided the food, they had only arrived a few days prior to our meeting and a month before the wedding date, but filled us with confidence. Chris had familiarised himself with the selected menu which had already been sent to our guests. Again he was so professional and made suggestions to improve the canapés and the cut of beef but still honoured the agreed price. It was a cold day but the club was comfortably warm. The staff were so hospitable and kept our guests looked after whilst we had photos done. The sit down meal was beautifully done and as it was a carvery, those with smaller appetites weren't overfaced, those with larger appetites had a full plate. Everything was made in house including the street food buffet for the evening guests which went down really well I think it will be a talking point amongst our friends for a while! They made sure the photographers and DJs were catered for as well. We were delighted with the whole day, the venue is big enough to accommodate guests chatting, dancing or playing snooker but still cosy enough to not lose any of the atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough, made an already amazing day even better. We came here on saturday 20th September 2025. My word, the weather was stinking! Even in bad conditions we all enjoyed the course. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to get into the clubhouse afterwards but on first impressions this is an all round club. I'll definitely be back, although I'll be shooting for a sunny day🤙🏻 Absolutely superb - From the moment we got there we were welcomed and embraced. Glyn is a credit to the team at Appleby Golf Club. Some standout par threes, if you’re in the area definitely worth a visit, fun interesting, a challenge and views. I say this as someone who didn’t play particularly well, which normally means I think the course is rubbish. All the staff made us feel welcome and were a credit to the club.
