Great karaoke Doner kebabs are the absolute best Not quite sure what to make of The Place. I have visited several times over the years and always think the same. Firstly the main attraction; the food, is generally very good (rated 4* accordingly). But the service is rather lackluster. The smile when speaking etc but it just comes across as insincere. And there are several silly shortcomings; no wifi, no brown sauce for breakfast, butter knife given out for lamb chops, all daft things easily corrected. And as for the sign at the entrance offering to 'nail your kids to the table', I have a sense of humour and it gave me a chuckle. But to some proud parents this might offend and will be interpreted as 'We are dog friendly but NOT kid friendly" First time in this place, tables are not the cleanest. Ordered chicken buger and it was so dry I left it, the cod was OK but they forgot the lemon. The was OK, thank god for the sauce. When we ordered drinks, I had to show them how to use the machine because they don't print receipts. Staff are very helpful and quick to correct any mistakes, they didn't tell us where to get our cutlery from or condiments. Would I recommend this place? NO Great place so inviting nice good food really enjoyed and have been back twice already Lovely, friendly staff. Inside was a little run down and soft drinks served from bottles, rather than the taps, but as its coming to the end of season, absolutely understandable. Food was very nice. It's quite a large place and there were many people already eating here so the were probably already overwhelmed. Once we found ourselves a table (which hadn't been cleared) we asked the to clear it for us but after about 20 minutes they still hadn't so we stacked all the plates onto an adjacent smaller table. We were a family of 4 adults and 3 children. 2 adults chose the carvery and had their meals right away but then my brother had to wait about 40 minutes for a cold and with the being over cooked. Nearly 10 minutes later the children's meals were brought out cold and then finally my all day breakfast came which was piping hot and quite tasty. All in all it was nearly an hour between receiving the first and the last meal. The atmosphere was ok as there were plenty of people there but the place does look run down and needs a bit of work. We won't be going back again unfortunately. Nice place great offers Sunday cooked dinner was fair price and perfect, the beef joint was best cooked beef I’ve had in a while, my kids had other food chicken burger was perfect and sausages and kids meals great Would highly recommend It’s such a shame this place is in the best spot to really do so well! We arrived by 6 and ordered 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals. It took 1 hour 40 for the food as they “lost our ticket” and the food was inedible. The kids sausage and cost £5.90 and arrived with one burnt sausage and 6 chips. The only redeeming act was the two younger female on were really helpful and lovely and offered slush drinks for my children so thank you for that. Beautiful carvery Currently sat down in this restaurant and have just finished "eating". To begin with my mother had the chicken Tika masala and the Poppadom was wet, greasy and chewy. so I asked the members, whilst they were playing on the gambling machine (very unprofessional) for another poppadom. When the new poppadom was brought out it was crispier but still extremely greasy. Then I had the and I ordered a medium well, when I began eating it i noticed it was burnt on the outside and uncooked on the inside, for me personally I thought it was Disgusting and inedibleInedible, it tasted like charcoal which gives me the impression the grill hadn't been cleaned, the along side it was also dry aswell as the on my dads fish and chip meal. My dad went to the toilet and came back with the news that the toilets were filthy and had a dead spider just sitting in the webb. We didn't get asked how our was not once, weren't welcoming and it felt like they didn't want us to be there and that we were just an inconvenience. Very unhappy with this experience. We went there today 4 the carvery, before the covid we always enjoyed it. I was greeted at the bar by a very pleasant young girl and very helpful. Had a bottle of wine very reasonable price. The carvery was excellent beef so tender and tasty veg, roasters,Yorkshire pudding all excellent. One of the reason we went because of the reviews, take no notice of reviews try for yourself definitely going back. I have been many times never had a problem food was lovely especially the and ale pie so much meat in it Awful in all honestly Only good thing was the food was at least warm Asked for some nachos, just with cheese for the little one, £8 for a handful of Doritos and some grated cheese 🤷 pie was dry and salty, with 10-15 and a small spoon of peas (9.99 on its own) Fish was from frozen, thrown in a fryer to look fresh, with again barely any and peas (12.99!) Will not be coming back, ever And, do not recommended to anyone at all. Left disgusted and very angry 😡 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
