Nice food, gluten-free options. Beautiful views from the café. The guacamole was amazing! A nice place to pop in to for lunch or afternoon tea and cake. They have a good selection of cakes and plenty of seating outside for sunny days. Staff are efficient and friendly. Gorgeous little cafe and really reasonably priced! The panini I had was great and the latte was too. Quick, friendly service and a beautiful building. EV chargers in the car park outside too! Well run cafe with great service and plenty of choices. I used this place for hot desking while awaiting broadband installation at home and loved it so much I intend to go back once a week in future to work. Relaxed, quiet working space with additional monitors and large desks, close to the wonderful cafe and all situated in the beautiful Crichton grounds. The food was excellent — both in flavour, quality and value for money (less than £5 for 3 pancakes and fresh fruit?!) — and the were SO lovely/friendly. Can’t believe how nice it was. Lovely buildings and very friendly and attentive staff. Only downside was slightly dry cake/ traybake - but that is to be expected in this weather. Michael & Kate An excellent find. Food ok, not pretentious, great value. Excellent surroundings but the star of the show were the staff. Friendly and nothing too much trouble. Whilst the food is tasty, it is pricier than the portion sizes. I sat down with my dog in the dog-friendly area waiting to be served. After nearly 25 I approached the till with a bottle of juice and made it known I was sitting at a table. I was advised it was table service and to return to the table where they would take my order. I'd have expected that someone would have been over long before then. Thankfully, I was then served within 5 minutes, and the food within a further 5-10 minutes. Had this been without the initial 25 min delay it would have been 5 stars. I sat for a further 40 after finishing my food (which was within about 10 mins of receiving it) without any further. I engaged a nearby member of cleaning the table next to me to request a coffee and scone. A further 30 on, I asked the same member of if they knew how long it would be. They appeared not to be directly responsible for serving food and surprised I hasn't yet received it. Almost immediately a waitress approached to advise they didn't have the milk I requested. She had an alternative and sorted it immediately, serving me the coffee and scone within 5 minutes. I am not sure what led to these oversights, but it certainly detracted from what could have been a smoother, more customer-focused experience. It took over 2 hours to receive a main meal, coffee and scone. Hoping this was just a bad day! Great location, super helpful staff, perfect place for an event or meeting a friend -- with wonderful views to look out on. Lovely place...
