Threave House (National Trust for Scotland)

Castle Douglas, United Kingdom Historical landmark

One of the Best Places To Visits in Rhonehouse Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. This place always has something to see all year round. It's also restful, and can be experienced at your own pace. Wasn't over crowded when we went on a Tuesday. Absolutely fantastic place to visit. The staff are superb and made the day even more enjoyable. Would love to visit again in spring It's part of national trust. Lovely with a glasshouse, pretty ponds and very quiet. Go to the house it's amazing! Really great for history buffs. The stories are fascinating, speak to the guides. Ask to see the secret cupboard. Another well maintained and managed home and garden run by the national trust for Scotland, all the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, beautiful house and gardens, also dog friendly Fabulous gardens. Something interesting to see which ever way you go. fabulously maintained. Dogs allowed in and inside the cafe. Very well worth a visit So thankful we can walk our dog in these beautiful gardens. Getting disappointed with National trust England for not allowing dogs in gardens. More often we can't take our dog in NT which are very plain compared to this one ! Loved the variety & colour in the trees this time of year. This Scottish National Trust site is only a short drive from Castle Douglas and well worth a day out. You can spend hours wandering around the beautifully maintained ( where coincidentally you can studied for RHS degree) and pop inside Threave House. We loved hearing all the stories about its history from the great SNT volunteers inside the house. There's also a small garden centre and gift shop to browse around as well as a cafeteria to eat at. Really gorgeous garden with lots of different features.
