Went for the 2pm kite feeding, but they didn't come down. Waited an hour. A shame, but they're wild and free so it's up to them. A few flew low so we did get to see them pretty close up and they were beautiful. So still a lovely experience. We got a lovely welcome and everyone was so friendly. Good hot chocolate. Toilets and gifts What an amazing experience. You can see the kites circling above and sitting in the trees before time, their calls getting louder and louder. When comes, it's such an incredible sight. We stayed for an hour after because the kites were still putting on a show. We also had delicious tea and cake served by 2 lovely ladies who were very knowledgeable. All in all, a brilliant experience that we would recommend to anyone visiting the area. The Kite's are huge birds, 60-70 of them swooping down at speed (and a single seagull named Simon), to get her food. I suggest getting their about 1pm to find a good spot, and staying once most people have left, as they then come back to get the left overs. Wonderful spectacle at time! Plenty of seating both in and outside. Friendly staff. The cafe sells coffee and cakes - as is 2pm, it would have been good if they could also do light savoury snacks such as sandwiches for visitors. An amazing experience to see over 100 Red Kites. Considering it was nearly an endangered species. The place is lovely to spend an afternoon. £7.50 to get in at the of posting. Worth it. Kites are fed at 2pm , but they hadn't put in an appearance by the I had to leave. The owners informed us that the kites had not been coming to feed until after 4pm. What a fabulous place. The setting is beautiful We arrived at 1.15pm. Paid our reasonable £7.50. Dogs welcome. Sat on the terrace and were royally entertaining by scores of Red Kites. Absolutely amazing place. Make sure you get there for 2pm time. We got there 30 minutes before and hundreds of kites where waiting in the sky and trees. 100% must see. .
