Bought a cheese burger here walked from shop to car and burger was cold cheese had not even melted it did not look to have been cooked properly did not take it back, should have girls were young did not want to get anybody in trouble it was nearly £4.00, my partner did have chip pa which were perfect, so burger went in bucket was disappointed as I was looking forward to burger. Defo won't go back wad put off We used Lochside a few times whilst on holiday food was fantastic all cooked to order no soggy stuff especially the fried steak pies!!! Very good value for money a large chips was enough for our 3 children & fish and chips for under £10 Tidy, very clean, only place to get fish and chips, staff very nice, value for money, good portions. Best chippy in Dumfries, everything always cooked fresh. Cold rolls for lunch are also top notch. I have been using this fish and chip shop for over 40 years. Always great. Batter on the fish is always crispy. Good service. Extremely good food, and amazing customer service, I say any place that ask you for your usual is a great sign of quality for any food establishment. Went and waited 20 for a smoked sausage supper, staff were horrible and just rude and later to find i was over charged by £1! Ik its not alot but still not okay. Wouldn’t rush back as staff are rude and overpriced. Came across this chippy on our way home to Newcastle. Shop looked very clean and food was cooked fresh to out order. The 2 lady’s working in the shop seemed lovely very chatty. We got battered haggis, chips curry sauce then a fish and it was beautiful. The first time we’ve had battered haggis and it was amazing! Definitely the best chippy we have been to in a long time.
