Came here on a Saturday evening where I did not make any table booking reservation. I was lucky to be able to get a table here at such short notice. It’s located in a very nice golf club resort. They have very nice selection of gin for those who want to give a try. Quite nice presentation on the food. Though I prefer a bigger steak portion but that’s my preference. Overall good experience! Very nice place with excellent food. Great service and fair prices. You will pay here for a gourmet dish that in big cities you will pay surely more than double. Lot of parking and we had no issue to find a table for lunch even without booking. We stopped on our way back home from the beach but we will surely come back on our next trip. Delicious food & cocktails and great service. We came here as a small group and everything was perfect. We all enjoyed our meals and the staff were lovely ☺️ I had the sweet & sour chicken as well as the peach and honey crumble. Absolutely loved both dishes and the pina colada was so tasty I had to get a second! Soooooooooo disappointing! My fish was old, the beans weren’t destrung, the roast was bland and the yorkshire pudding shouldn’t have been served (Aracini Balls were good) Service was awful, barely anyone was here but took half hour to order and receive our dessert. Staff here need to stop gossiping and looking at their phones and DO their jobs. Poor, poor, poor. Stay away if you want a nice meal.. Marvelous food! We had gorgeous dishes at a reasonable price. Spotless place with a great ambiance. Great views to the gardens, kind staff. I recently attended an event at The Celtic Arms in Northop with members of Hawarden Masonic Hall, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. From start to finish, the service was exceptional — attentive, professional, and delivered with genuine warmth. The setting itself is stunning, offering a welcoming atmosphere that perfectly balances elegance with comfort. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented, and full of flavour, with every course exceeding expectations. It’s clear that real care and attention go into both the menu and the overall guest experience. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the evening ran smoothly, creating an environment where everyone felt relaxed and well looked after. It truly made the event a memorable occasion for all who attended. I cannot recommend The Celtic Arms highly enough. Whether for a special event, a gathering, or simply a meal out, it is a venue that delivers excellence on every level. Absolutely lovely place! Situated on the golf course, the setting is beautiful. Inside the pub itself is very nicely done. I've only had Sunday lunch here a few times and the quality of the food is brilliant, very tasty. One of the best places locally. I would probably suggest booking a table as it does get busy. Highly recommend!! I have been here a few times being a local. However, went there today for mums 86th birthday. Just my sister, myself and mum. We all opted for a Sunday dinner. Mum and I went for the 'pink' beef dinner and sister went for vegetarian option. The starters were lovely but I would not go back for the main event. The beef was 'grey' (overcooked), the Yorkshire pudding was bland, soft/rubbery. Sister struggled as the nut roast was very dry and like birdseed. The vegetables were just a pile of mush on top of each other. The service was very slow even though not particularly busy BUT the staff themselves were very polite and friendly. Shame as the food is normally very good. Just not Sunday lunch.
