Long, narrow gardens with lots of benches and trees for shade on a hot day. Well maintained and tidy. Has two lion statues at one end and the Lions bandstand at the other. Has a substantial in the centre for those killed in WW1 and WW2, and as with so many war dead, taken before his time, a youngster of 20 killed in the war in Afghanistan.... none of you are forgotten. Rest in peace. Peaceful and relaxing gardens with plenty of bench seating, including 2 new benches with unique designs. Hornsea Gardens is a beautiful park right off Newbegin - the main road in Hornsea. It is a lovely place in all four seasons and a wonderful place to attend the Remembrance Day Ceremony. Well kept public garden area as a local for those people who lost their lives for our Country and giving us the freedom that we have! A nice walk around and ok for dogs but please remember to clean up after mutty! 🐕 Clean and quiet an ideal place to sit after walking around the shops there's plenty of wooden.seats.for people to rest up and all the benches have a brass plate in memory of there loved ones around the large tree's there's a small patch of flowers which are looked after by professional gardener's on a warm sunny day it's a beautiful place to be, well worth a visit Sunday the 10th of Nov brought the remembrance service to hornsea which was well attended as like previous years it was pleasing to see the younger element getting involved The tree's and benches around the gardens were dressed up in poppy's as it was a glorious day we found a seat in the shade and had a cold drink before setting off back to the caravan I couldn't resist taking another couple of Photo's on our way back we decided to walk through Gardens there we noticed 2 new metal seats which were designed for the those who were killed in both war's being a glorious day we went into Gardens family's where sat on rugs having a picnic enjoying the lovely sunny weather birds came down with in distance hoping for any bread crumbs black birds could be heard in the back ground Ideal to sit in the shade and reflect I appreciate the area for parking and tranquility, local to a lot of excellent amenities inc Cloud Nine my favourite restaurant, ERL Hornsea and the beach/sea. I admire some of the old school town houses nearby, reminds me of Beverley Westwood for half the price. And most importantly the cleanliness and quality of the world war is a thing of beauty, respect and thankfulness for those who sacrificed their lives. Walk through here a couple of times a week, it's a remembrance garden so a nice quiet place with a good few benches. Flat surface so fine for wheelchair users. Well maintained too. Lovely place to visit and chill out, we'll keep park with plenty of trees for shade, would be a nice place for a picnic with your family, we came across this by chance, what a sanctuary on the hottest day of year. Remembrance Day 2021 ,A good turnout for the 2 Minutes silence Used as path to hornsea town centre, neat and tidy with plenty of places to sit and eat.
