The secret stairs are REALLY steep, and there is no handrail. The “secret” back stairs down are steep and I’d be nervous taking a child down them but are worth the stress of climbing down. On top of that, put yourself in the history of this fort and the people who were there before us, including going back to the stone age. I was blown away. The climbing through the fort was steep and I wished I hadn't done an earlier hike. The secret stairs at the end not to be taken lightly. Fort Buoux is stunning. The area is wide, there is so much to see. It was a hot day and we almost didn't want to enter, but we would have missed so many interesting and unforgettable views.
