Local markets are also quite interesting and worth visiting Superb experience, one would believe being in an American National Park, just smaller and more accessible The ochre trail is a must in this area in Roussillon. Loved it! And take a drive and find some lavender feilds (my pic taken in Valensole). Easy to get to. We came from nice and stayed a night in a tent in the nearby horse ranch. Initially we thought we had to book a canoeing day trip in advance. But in the end we were able to drive just up to the bridge and park there. There’s a paddle boat and canoe rental service by the hour at the shore just next to the carpark. Very convenient and not expensive. We picnicked on the paddle boat as we went through the gorge. A fun experience. Amazing small villages found on the hillside.The Roussillon is extremely beautiful , the colors red and oranges houses gives a very unique outlook to the town itself.Highly recommended to visit once you are in the region of Provence in France especially the sentier d’ocre .
