Amazing place, great staff, and very peaceful. 5 star all day We’ve stayed at Wellsfield a few times now on our vacations, and it has been excellent every time. It offers enough space for our family, meaning we can book multiple cabins near each other, host our local friends for small gatherings, and have meals at home to save money and relax. It’s a quick drive to many landmarks, both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and allowed us to easily explore. We will continue to stay at Wellsfield on any future trips to the area. Fabulous lodges, super clean and well equipped, all the staff are really friendly and helpful ,great location to motorway. We have been 3 times and will certainly return My family stayed in one of those lodges recently and were amazed by the facilities this offeres. Kitchen completely equipped, all more than enough kitchen wear, also had a washing machine. Alot of great local walks. Staff were friendly and attentive. Arrived early and was able to check In straight away which was nice. Myself and my daughter have had an entirely dreadful experience with the equestrian side of this business. The riding school is very busy and extremely disorganised. I gave this business the benefit of the doubt several times with their “booking” system and even tried to block book lessons during the week, same time every monday, and still there was issues with them not having horses ready, or moving my daughter into group lessons if it suited them, but also negative comments made and tuts and sighs. Avoid this place if you are a looking to learn to ride especially if inexperienced or not confident. I have seen “senior” members of staff speak to young riders in a very impatient manner. AVOID. My daughter and I have taken our business elsewhere and wish we had done it earlier. First time staying here and absolutely in love with this place, waking up to the horses trotting about the field in the morning has been an absolute dream, lodge is beautiful and a lot of heart has went into creating how beautiful this lodge is. Will 100% be back, sad to leave.
