Had such a muffin here! They have a really cow too! and cafe. Fresh produce is very fresh with a selection of items available. The milk vending machine is a idea £3 for a glass bottle which you can use again and £2.50 for a plain or flavoured milk. The is really nice, we had the burger and the minute steak baguette, both were really tasty. The chips are homemade. Visited here whilst on holiday in Scotland. There is a range of food from bakery section to butchers to cakes. The cakes were amazing wish i had bought some extras. We had lunch in which was really excellebt service. The following morning we visited the express van outside for breakfast which was really nice. Worth a visit if in area. A super find this one, I highly recommend a visit. Easy to access, park and enjoy. Food was beautiful. Had a morning here!! Stopped off for breakfast which was really good. The haggis and black pudding were nicely seasoned, toast was and the eggs cooked perfectly. Dog friendly too which we loved! Had a quick wonder around the and a selection of different things. The pies at the butchers looked amazing and will be back for one. I joined group tour for a day tour and we had quick stop over here. Overall, the place is lovely! Perfect to have coffee, tea and snacks. The view is stunning and so relaxing to chill a bit. A bit overpriced, but it's got the goods. We've been here a couple of times before to browse the shop, but this time tried out the café. We had a time, the café has a lovely, spacious view of the surrounding fields and plenty of light. We had, Earl grey, 7/10, hot tea, served in attractive stoneware. Not much else to it really. Nutella cheesecake, 8/10, luxurious creamy cheesecake, rich nutty flavour, consistency. Perhaps a little too sweet, but I really enjoyed it. Decaf cappuccino, 8/10, same stoneware, standard cappuccino Chocolate orange cheesecake, 8/10, this cheesecake was less intesely flavoured than the other one, but no less tasty for it. Overall we had a really café experience, and we'll probably be back to try some other things on the menu. As mentioned, it's all a little pricy, the markup on some of the things in the especially is a bit much - when you can find the exact same products online for 20% cheaper you've got to raise an eyebrow or two... That said, the butcher has a range of cuts (we had a couple of steaks from there last time and they were great), self-service milk and milkshakes at the front is fun, and the wait staff were very nice. cycling stop for a bacon roll, coffee and sweet treat. Outdoor covered facilities with heaters in winter. Indoor is excellent as well, although very popular so you may have a wait. Excellent albeit not the cheapest. All in all a stopping point. Toilets also available indoors Love our trips here. The amazing steak pies. An incredible selection of craft juices, sauces, snacks, beers and bakery and cakes. The food from the is absolutely top notch and the little takeaway van is amazing. A wee place if your serious about high quality food. My most recent new purchase, the cloudy lemonade...Wow. Outstanding. But just one of thousands of amazing little independent products on offer. Did I mentioned the milkshake machines? No wonder I'm getting a tad chunky. Used to enjoy buying my butcher meat here, Sirloins, Chicken Snitzels and mince monthly with Burgers being bought weekly. Unfortunately their recent price increases are now unaffordable. Last year a premium burger was priced at £1.50 each, quality at a decent price, last week however the burger price had risen to £1.95, this week the burgers are priced at £2.25, I know that businesses have been subject to additional cost pressures lately and as much as I’m sympathetic to them, I will not as a consumer pay all or the majority of these costs. In a year a premium burger has risen by 50%, I haven’t looked at chicken or sirloin prices. A classic Scottish bothy. Really selection of homemade cakes, sandwiches, souvenirs. We came for the milkshake machine which has incredible prices, and tastes so fresh. Once we discovered this, we came back twice in one week! Polish man working the outside food truck is so and hospitable. We’ve visited here before on other trips up to Scotland but now we make it part of our journey. A which has been very well laid out. Always clean and the staff are very friendly. Meat from the butchers always and fresh. Looking forward to next time. We stopped into the café for a quick bite to eat. The burgers were good, but the fries were magnificent and the best we had in all of England. We got Takeaway food here for dinner and it was also quite tasty. Easy to find, just of the A873. layout with a huge variety of meats, preserves, gifts, sweet treats!. There is also a vending machine with fresh cows milk from Farrahs farm Toilets are easily accessible and are top quality. The has a layout, waitresses are really kind and service. Had lentil soup for lunch, quality of bread served with it let it down. Would definitely recommend Smiddy I often visit here, particularly for coffee and a breakfast roll from the express van or fresh milk from the vending machine. Also it has a including some dog toys that my collie absolutely loves! The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful, they really do go the extra mile which is always appreciated. The only negative I can suggest is that the pre-cooked meats for the breakfast rolls at the express van aren’t as as they were when freshly cooked previously. However, I appreciate that this greatly speeds up customer orders, and of course when it’s busy you do notice the improvement in speed.
