This is wonderful set of buildings that have been period preserved to take people back to the steam years of railways. Do take trip on trains too, because it's a great experience. (update 27/7/18 - still a nice and I don't mind aiding the funds but I thought £1.20 for a can of diet coke was a bit steep!!!!) Nice little on the West Somerset railway (see photo's for 2016 fares from Watchet). The 7 day freedom of the line is very good value and is new this year. Very pleasant and helpful staff. had a great day out Whilst visiting Watchet we popped into the to collect a timetable. A lovely peak into a bygone age. Ticket office in original format and an open fire to warm us up on a chilly Saturday afternoon Lovely Railway. We went from Watchet to Blue Anchor on the steam train, which was a great experience. The stations are like something out of a movie and the even have old trunks, etc, at the platform, so give it an old world feel. Each member of staff on the trains and platforms was brilliant and very informative. Lovely with period buildings and associated railway artefacts. Staff were friendly and kept everyone informed of the next trains and in what direction. Small model railway and on the day a model railway sales stand was present. The town and harbour are only a small walk down the hill, and they are also well worth a visit. Day trip to Minehead,with my other half and her dog. Very enjoyable trip, dog didn't particularly like the train, but it was her first time. Staff were very smartly dressed in their uniform and the stations were very pretty.
