Loved by locals, tourists and #raillovers, old & young! People visit from around the world to enjoy the heritage trains. We just love the cutest little British steam engines. This is rural England and as real as it gets. Have you been? A most, wonderful and pretty station to visit if you enjoy railway history and nostalgia. And very special indeed if the Flying Scotsman is passing through..! This is a must visit, it's like stepping back in time.. And the station master is fantastic 👌 Lovely Station,beautiful garden, good place to sit and let the world go past. Ice cold tins of soda etc £1. Very polite helpful staff. This is a definite thing to do if you are in the area. I came here to ride the stream train and then discovered there was so much more to explore along the journey. It's not cheap to travel. But what a great adventure, especially if, like me, you are used to the humdrum hustle and overcrowded London area trains. Bring back the steam trains I say! Lovely railway station, kept as it was in the 1930’s, the lovely station master invited us to look at the office, kept as it had been when it was boarded up nearly 100 years ago.
