Very reasonable prices for quantities of food. We have eaten here many times, for several years. There's a sheltered outside section if you have dogs. Great full english breakfast, very welcoming owners 😀 100% will return. Great garden with park leading to the beach. Dog Regularly visit when staying in Brean, breakfasts are superb and value. Lovely beer garden overlooking the sea to relax with a drink and watch the sunset. and owner always so polite and too. Outdoor covered seated area for the dogs with heaters too for cooler or damp days. Doggy snacks on sale too. Beautiful surroundings the food and are very clean and we can take the dogs with us thank you not many places to go with our pets would highly recommend would give it more than 5 stars defanatly a 10 Everyone. This is the Place for Milkshakes! Standard flavours are Great! But the Bubblegum doesn't cut It. It Just Tastes Like Water. So Stick to the normal flavours. Review left by son Had lunch here this week. I had steak, chips, onion rings, peas and mushrooms. The whole meal was delicious, the steak cooked perfectly. My husband had curry, rice and naan bread which was also delicious. The were very friendly. Oh my god, this place is an absolute find. Beautiful views over the sea from the restaurant. The food is all home cooked and absolute value for money. I had a ploughman's and my family, Mac and Cheese - absolutely delicious. They do filled Yorkshire's but sadly were so popular we missed out. Or did we? Nope, we went back for one and it was well worth it. 😁 My and I stopped by The Sundowner this morning for breakfast, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. We were a party of six—my wife and I, our two daughters, and both of our mums—and from the moment we walked through the door, we were met with a warm, atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The were welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, and we were introduced to the proprietors, Dave and Sue, who couldn’t have been more hospitable. It’s clear they take great pride in their café, and their genuine warmth and attentiveness set the tone for the whole visit. The food, cooked fresh to order, arrived in under 15 minutes and was beautifully presented, hearty, and full of flavour. The portions were generous and everything tasted like it had been made with care. The prices were more than reasonable, especially considering the quality of the meal and service. All in all, we had a truly lovely experience at The Sundowner. It’s the kind of place you want to return to—not just for the food, but for the people and the atmosphere. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Great beach bar with and helpful staff. Worth a visit whilst having a walk along the hard sand of the vast beach (until the tide comes in!) Here in March 25 on a beautiful day. I felt I had to write a review after reading a few others. We had the best day here for my partner's birthday. We went out of season so nowhere was open to eat a proper meal for the kids. The were so kind and attentive, it was chilly day and we sat outside so I explained that my son has severe autism and is better in open spaces but we were fine outside, they informed me we could sit in a sheltered spacious area that was heated if we wanted but ensured me we were all welcome inside. We ordered for ourselves and two children, there was not much of a wait and the food was beautiful and fresh.. in fact I rarely order salad with a meal out as it's always bad but chanced it and it was beautiful and fresh.. ( ide ate most of the salad when I took the picture so there was a lot more) My children didn't want to eat so they gave us containers to take it with us which we did and they enjoyed it later. Beautiful little gifts in the cafe for the kids and family, asked if they had any Victoria sponge cake on a whim as nowhere was open to buy my partner's favourite, the chef got me some that he'd froze and explained when it would be ready. Both I dealt with were so lovely and with my children. We felt very welcomed something that doesn't happen enough for a with special needs children. Thank you both for making our day so special. Came in this week after working away for a year and jeez has the place been taken over by new management!? As what a let down, tasteless rubbery what’s supposed to be cheese and crap bland instead of the they used to have. Such a shame What a lovely place to go, me and my of 11 have been for food more than 2 times this week as we are on holiday. Each we’ve gone the service and atmosphere has been amazing. The servers have been amazing, reminding us that plates are hot. As a large group wanting all our food together the wait was only 30 mins max. The food was delicious with never any issues to raise. If meals were running late we received for free. The owner was very present and actively made it a point to talk and communicate with everyone in the cafe. As a large group they wouldn’t rush us to hurry up even though the cafe should have been closed. The cocktails are priced perfectly and taste as as they look. Very cafe to go to either small or large. Also although on the beach side the cafe was in clean conditions, with cleaning the floors on regular basis. We visited today for the second in two weeks and this we brought the as we enjoyed our visit so much the first time! I spoke to Dave and Sue and credit where credit is due, they run the place extremely well and produce food which is not only great value but of a great standard too. Also the fact that vegetarian and vegan diets are catered for with no fuss is extremely important to us and they do this well with a choice of food on the menu. We find that more and more these days eating and drinking out has become expensive and disappointing but to find a gem like this on our doorstep is superb! We shall be back!! And thanks for the baby ice cream, she loved it!!😄 Staying locally for a country & western week and stumbled across this place. So glad we did. Great food, reasonably priced, welcoming and catered for dogs too. Cowboy breakfast was a nice touch and tasty. choice of food options whatever of day. Can especially recommend the yorkie wraps and cauliflower cheese. Definitely will be back again when we're next in Brean.
