Anna Buchholz is a joy to behold in her natural surroundings. And the whisky outcome is truly one for nerds. My Harz highlight this summer with a bit of Lego to boot Great taste of Harz Mountain Whisky A piece of Scotland right in the Hercinian Mountains. Even the location reminds you on glen with it's creek. The whisky is excellent too and also got it's own, regional touch, not trying to copy their famous Gaelic role models. Had an absolutely great time on the distillery tour here. Very informative and super friendly staff. Tasting was awesome and was very happy to take a few bottles home. I look forward to visiting again. Very good place for finest single malt whiskey, directly made there. A bottle costs a "small fortune" :) but it is worth it. For the quality they provide, it is a bargain. The people there are very very friendly and competent. I now own a bottle of a sherry-cask 5 year aged whiskey. Wonderfull thing to taste... We had a wonderful tour through the distillery with many insights from the Mistress of Distilling Anna Buchholz and a splendid tasting afterwards.
