Best museum i have ever visit. You will find out how it is beeing miner now and how it was in past. Visited the Mining Museum, I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy it, but I did! Once you get your tickets, your guide will tell u to get a locker and out all your belongings inside. Your bags, purses and phones. Once that is done, you’ll be asked to put on a mining jacket and a hard hat. They also give you a hotdog and juice to eat as a break. Each piece of food goes goes in each pocket. An elevator takes u down and that’s when the tour begins. Lots of walking, story telling from our guide. No pictures are allowed in the mining tour. I actually loved it. It’s so different! It’s a must see. Must visit site when You are in Velenje area. 👌I visited some mining museums but this is totally unique experience. Guide was former miner so the interpretation was personal. Museum is part of the still running mining company. Do not eat before entering museum. They have very nice surprise for You. 👌 Absolutely amazing place to go! The tour was really extraordinary and I'm happy for being part of the miners team for a moment. It's definetely a must see place in Velenje! And nearby is the beautiful lake, so be sure you jump there too. Was there twice in a week with a group of camp kids. Excellent museum, really fascinating, it gives a great look into the life of miners. One thing that bothered me a bit was that both guides spoke really fast and sometimes you couldn't follow their explanation. Ten to twelve people in a group is, by my opinion, maximum number for a good experience. All in all, a thing very much worth taking time for. A phenomenal experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. The museum is exceptionall. It is located in a special part of an active mine. The guide is outstanding, explains everything very well, and adds extra value to the whole experience. The mine is great. Yes! You go down 130m and actually visit a mine. Sadly you can't take any pictures as the flamable gases, and phones don't mix well Really nice, authentic experience, more then 150m down by elevator. We recommend. Photo is forbidden. Path is dry, no water, no mud. Tickets is better book before, English exhibition is only few times a day.
