Probably one of the best beaches in Slovenia. The itself is grassy and there are many trees, so it will appeal to both those who want to sunbathe and those who want to lie in the shade. Entrance to the water: small pebbles. Near the there is a large and paid car park, when we visited the place the car park cost 1 euro per hour. The is nice and parking is available and there are facilities and places to eat etc. But the experience depends on which way the wind is blowing. The nearby thermo electric power plant gives off quite a whiff (think Burton on Trent brewery smell of you're from the UK) which can be rather unpleasant. Apparently the locals call it the cloud factory. Brilliant place. Lovely swin.in the fresh lake. Great facilities. Choice of restaurants. Great lake, so comfy 👍️ Lovely! Waters look so inviting for a swim, well maintained grass and there are bars, cafes, food trucks. Parking is reasonably priced and umbrellas are free as it should be. Would love to visit again. There is also a dog bathing area and a rental shop for sup and kayaks. Velenje is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy nature. The is clean, spacious, and well-organized. It has excellent infrastructure, including cafes, showers, changing rooms, and shaded areas. There are also fun activities for both kids and adults. Everything you need is right there, making it super convenient. Definitely one of the best spots to spend a summer day in Slovenia! As far as I'm concerned to me, this beats Bled at the moment. Very nice nature, clean water, lots of space to lay on the sun or in the shadows, plenty of parking spaces for a reasonable price, good food offering, free toilets and showers... went on a Sunday, in the morning it was peaceful with not that many visitors but got vey crowded and noisy during the day. Sometimes there is some bad smell, from what I heard it's coming from the mines. Really cool place for all family! Good and big parking (1€ per hour or 5€ for whole day, A lot of small and big cafes with normal meals and drinks for adequate money, dressing cabins, super organized side and free of pay some entertainment for children. Highly rexommended! .. at a giant (sunken land due to coal mines) between Velenje and Sostanj, Slovenia. What a lovely and peaceful place ! We spent the afternoon there and it was really so relaxing and chill. You can eat, have a swim and even show your best tricks on the diving board 🤸‍♂️ One of the best Slovenian beaches and a great route called Strekna for cyclists. I highly recommend trying it. Nice place to cool of. If you come with your dog, 100 m from the swimming area, you dog can take a dive. The is grass, if you want to walk in the I would recommend watershoes. But there is also a wooden pier from where you can jump in and can climb up with a ladder. The is deep so you would reach the bottom. There are also a few changing rooms available.
