Just came for a quick visit and I found staff to be very friendly and professional. I appreciate your help and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Michael Great facilities and cant wait to bring scuba and mermaid to Prestwick on Monday!!! Firstly, the Fun & Floats sessions are awesome, staff from the entrance to poolside are all professional, kind and on the ball, the areas, showers and the itself are super clean and tidy and have great ease of access. Having the SAC app makes booking for Lane Swimming and F&F sessions pretty easy too, however the staff that take telephone bookings for SAC leisure are fantastic too. Great swimming pool. Recently refurbished. Free parking. Lockers take pound coins, but I was very helpfully given a token to use at reception since I didn't have a pound. Very good experience both times I have been. Love the new layout but sadly there isn't a seated area for spectators I take my son to the pool, it's a good depth. Showers and cubicals are clean and it's it great facility to have in Prestwick. I also use the small gym. It's functional but perfect for my needs and the price of swim and gym offers real value. No where to sit in the observation gallery (not disabled friendly at all). Locker rooms are cleaner and the was warmer than the Citadel main pool. For those of you with little ones. This is an amazing swimming pool. Staff are very friendly and helpful from the time you enter the building at the desk to the attendants. Joined the swimming Sept 2019. The is never cold or dirty and you get a decent swim and exercise. I always talk up about it to others and the benefits of the in the local community to the young and maturerer members. It is an important accest to the physical well-being of the people of Prestwick Spent a couple of nostalgic hours at prestwick today. Went there as kid many years ago,many times. 60 years ago (ouch). Great to see the old pool,brought back so many happy memories. Gardens seems the same. Bit tired town centre. The girl at the station {customer service) was very helpful and cheerful. I re-joined this gym in autumn 2025 after it went through a refurb. The gym is small, but for the size, quite well equipped (though if more than eight people are using it, it feels busy and is difficult to get access to equipment). I used the place for about a month before cancelling my membership due mostly to the changing/shower facilities - or rather, lack of them! Since it's refurb, the small accessible changing/shower room beside the gym is no longer allowed to be used by gym users (I was told it's for disabled users only, now, and is also used as a first aid room and needs to be kept clear?!?). The only option for and showering is the poolside area which is now unisex, requiring all users to be clothed while using it - totally impractical unless you're going swimming. There are two very small shower cubicles available along with open showers, but having tried them I find them to be unsuitable as there isn't even a hook on the doors to hang clothes/towel on (so everything gets wet as they have to lay on the floor) and are often in use. The no-shoes in the area policy they have is also a problem for 'dry-side' users. The 'wet-side' facility really is only suitable for swimmers, and while I was a member I noticed that a lot of the gym users were not using the or showers at all, but instead arriving and leaving in their workout clothes. For me, this is not acceptable as I need to shower after a workout, which is practically impossible in this facility, so I've moved elsewhere. Would have enjoyed a swim much more if capital radio hadn’t been blasting through the intercom - sorry not relaxing and won’t be back if that continues!
