Great place for a walk with plenty of parking. When the tide is out there are plenty of rock pools that you can see some sea life in. There is a chippy called the wee hurrie very close by which is a must when visiting 😀 What a super spot for a brew and a butty. The small sea wall seems to go for miles and the view wow. If you have sturdy feet why not park up and take a look. This is a beautiful parking place with an amazing view of Bute. Nip round to the Wee Hurry chippy and bring it round here to eat. Great place to see and brilliant chippy the wee hurrie just round the corner. Very nice for a stroll This was a beautiful Tuesday morning near the Ballast banks of Troon. A nice coffee and a roll n slice then a walk along the beach it's the 29th of September at 7.39am alls pretty good with the world...so far...if you forget about the virus for an hour or two that is. Excellent place for a walk, to scramble on the rocks, or to watch the sunset Great area for walking or picnics in the summer. From the start of the ballast bank to the end of the promenade (& back) is 5k. Decent parking area too Love being up here looking across the sea to Arran and Ailsa Craig. A beautiful peaceful walk with benches along the way if you want to sit and relax a while. Advise taking the route from the harbour side past the marina at Scott's bar and restaurant for anyone who would have difficulty walking up the steep pathway from the promenade. Either way not really suitable for anyone who needs a walking aid. Beautiful scenery.
