It's all compact and beautiful It's not a long but on a clear sunny day when the ground is dry it's a beautiful for everyone. If it has been raining a day or two before the ground will be muddy in spots so make sure you have appropriate footwear! We had a great time exploring the woods and walked the trail. It’s not entirely complete anymore which made us go in a few circles but that didn’t stop us. The kids loved it Can't comment on the Trail as this area is primarily a public woodland and we go there for walking and enjoying the wildlife through the seasons. It's a lovely place for a with a great variety of wildlife but can be very muddy in places. Sturdy footwear is advised. There is a good sized car park with public toilets. There is also a play area for young children and picnic tables. This is a lovely place to the dogs or take children. There are some detailed sculptures along the various paths. The main path is very good and flat. There is plenty of parking and toilets open during the day. Great place for adults or the kids. Bbq or a through the grounds. Toilets on site Was a lovely place, could do with more signs for the actual trail though as all we found were about 2 doors and a carving. So the woods what can I say.......the doors were a little worn but the beautiful but very sad tree with lots of messages to people who have passed and kids dummies for the dummy felt very spiritual. Still it was a lovely and our 2 year old and her friend loved it especially the park and the picnic at the end. Lots of open space to run and play. Pleasant little walk, kinda short but easy enough if you have an old dog like we do. Lovely little houses carved into tree stumps. It's a beautiful area to around and it feels like there's wee surprise things to look at everywhere with tree carvings, the doors, the garden, different wildlife. As a 30-something year old I was in awe of everything I saw so I can only imagine what wonderment it would bring to a child. We visited and it was still wintertime so it wasnt even in full bloom! I'm definitely going back in different seasons so I can fully experience it. I didn’t get why was it called a trail, but it was a nice For a free day out we could not grumble at all. Overall I think we was here for a good 3 hours. The parking was free too which is always a bonus. We took a picnic which there was plenty of benches. I was expecting more doors but we did find a few. The children loved the freedom to run around the wood as well which is a short circle and there is so many different trails and things to see. I definitely would recommend to any lovers. Such a cute idea. (My children loved the oak tree too with the lovely note and a free tree hug!!)
