Feel like ordering every dish on the menu but we didn't even have room for dessert after the lovely mains. We ordered the smoked haddock and prawn gratin, and lamb rump- both to perfection, savoury sauce to go with. And reasonable prices for the quality and portion. First time visiting Hollybush Inn and what a find. First impressions of outside is 50/50 but inside is nice, clean and with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were great and as as you make them. Now the food, tasty and professionally to perfection. Well worth travelling from Glasgow to and anywhere in the SE of Scotland. I really can't rate this Inn high enough. We will be back. Best food we have had in Scotland.The attention to detail in the food is outstanding. Talented Chef,very welcoming front of house, amazing views, spotless inside and out. A true gem. My partner and I shared a starter and a dessert which of course was no issue, and got our own main. Was honestly burst 😂 food was delicious! Cocktails were lovely too! Car parking is really convenient and lovely views! They also play great background tunes! Overall, good value for money and a nice wee trip outside the town. We visited the Hollybush Inn for Sunday dinner twice during our fortnight holiday to Ayr. The food was out of this world brilliant, every meal was and presented to perfection. The host and staff were friendly, engaging and welcoming. Our dog Scamp was treated like Royalty! I would highly recommend the Hollybush Inn and wouldn't hesitate to return. Wonderful food, super service and dog friendly. What's not to like? I hadn't been in years so i took my partner to the hollybush inn yesterday for dinner and it did not disappoint. The service was fantastic and the food was absolutely beautiful. Only issue what wasnt the restaurants fault was it was extremely noisy to the point i couldn't make out what my partner was saying but worth it for the quality of the food My wife and I got into town a little later than expected and stopped by not long before close to ask if we could still grab dinner. The staff were more than happy to accommodate us and were very friendly. When I mentioned a dietary restriction I have, the waitress went out of her way to make sure everything I ordered would be ok for me to eat and even offered alternatives. I was extremely impressed with her attention to detail and care towards her customers. Unfortunately, we're only in town for the one night but I would definitely like to go back in the future. Went for sunday lunch - great roast beef and gravy, although portion was a little small. Sides not the best - used frozen potatoes. Brilliant sticky toffee pudding, massive! Large selection of dishes in the menu, service. Excellent food, well presented. Attentive staff. First visit but not the last. My god I have never eaten food this good in my life and the prices are perfect. If you are anywhere near this place stop and eat. Thank you! What a wee gem this place is. Went for Sunday Lunch (sirloin,Yorkshire pudding with all the trimmings) which was absolutely amazing 👏 and very dog friendly. Would highly recommend. I can’t praise this place highly enough, New Year’s Day we have been out for a drive and stop on the off chance that they have a table for 4. They agreed that we could be seated despite being very busy with people who had made bookings. The staff were excellent, very efficient and friendly. There was a fixed menu for the meals with plenty of choice. The food was plated nicely and really well, we all cleared our plates of the 3 courses. Considering it was New Year’s Day the cost of the meals were very good and we will be going again, but will book.
