First here since Covid began. Camping/caravan areas are really nice, didn't so can't comment, albeit it seems to have altered quite a bit since my last visit. New management to both tackle shop and site, which has resulted in big improvements. Limited washing and toilet facilities which are quite old but kept clean and tidy. The guy who seemed to be in charge told me there are planned new facilities and expansion of pitches in to come. There are hard standing with e.h.u. which doesn't trip as soon as two things are switched on, for £20 a night plus lots of grass areas, some also with e.h.u. It was a good deal in our book. We stayed on the C.L. Caravan & Motorhome Club Site you have to be a Club member. This is a separate field from the Cottington campsite and has 5 pitches four with electric hook up. If you haven't a licence you aren't allowed access to the surrounding lakes. It would have been nice to have a walk around the lakes, but this didn't distract from our stay as the location of the field was very pleasant. It's worth noting that there is only one EHU barnacle with four plugs, which if you haven't a 25m lead could have you very close to other units; you can hire an extension lead for a refundable £20. There is a cafe on site (which we didn't make use of) next to registration. The showers and toilets are OK but need refurbishment these are open to all campers and day anglers to the Lakes. An enjoyable few days spent here on this site. Great fishery but you need to book a year in advance to get on pepper or Christine . The on site shop is Now being run by Outlaw pro. If you want bait I would recommend giving A B.S a ring Great Fishery, some of the swims need attention but overall very good. Had a fantastic first visit here on the Match lake. Went with my step-son, he is 12 and this was 4th fishing, he had an incredible day landing a 6 1/2lb Common, an 8lb Common and a whopping 11lb Mirror! Outside of that, we had a number of Common and Mirror in the 2lb to 5lb bracket. Very private and secure facility, great tackle shop and great cafe. Will definitely return. Camped overnight lovely staff very helpful for questions before stay and whilst there. Facilities were lovely. Gutted dog can't come with me or I would have stayed longer. Reasonable prices and clean campsite. Had the worst 2 days ever was a mud bath, most swims where badly kept was told to go on the grass then near the swim then told to go on the swim they didn't even try to help out with a fork or spade or any chippings, they just took my money won't be going back how on earth can you advertise swims available then get there and there bogged out a bloody waste of a 2hr journey very disappointed this had also been posted on Facebook by other people fishing. Plus if you know this like your saying why still say 8 swims available on your website and charge for it when you know you can't even off the swims on near them. Superb complex! for all abilities, and all staff on the complex are extremely knowledgeable about the lakes. Lee & Simon always take the to ensure all anglers have a safe and enjoyable session, offering as much help as they can to anglers to aid them catching as many as possible! My go to venue! First at this place i am a fairly new fisherman and was a little nervous about my rigs, went to the tackle shop spoke to i think was the owner he checked my rids and they needed changing 🙁, wasn’t. a problem within a few mins i had both rods set up . Had a great day will return soon 😀 . Big thank you for you help and advice . Regards Graham Enjoying my return to after 40+ years. Nice, pretty lakes, are plentiful but not jumping out for you. You have to work. Good, well priced bait & tackle. Not tried the cafe yet but will be going back to enjoy the sport. Good venue, could get better by having a lake with no carp or bream. Love to a lake with big Tench, Crucians, Roach, Rudd there are too many with carp across most of uk. This venue could buck the trend and offer this. Would be great. Plus still need pot holes filling in. Cottington has always been a special place to visit, but during a recent session on lake Christine, Lee spent some advising me and giving me some amazing tips that led me to land some amazing carp over the weekend. Engaging with anglers and offering tips that ensure anglers have the best possible chances is so valuable - This advice is clearly coming from someone with an incredible level of experience! The improvements that have been made in the last year have absolutely transformed the fishery and with Lee behind driving the future of Cottington Lakes, it’s going to go from strength to strength! I will be booking many more sessions at Cottington Lakes! Get yourself on Swimbooker, and book on! Fantastic communication. Was so good from the moment we turned up not had much experience on and made sure we had a great day with helpful tips and which bait to use we had over 40 in half a day couldn’t recommend enough Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
