Nice white cliffs with footpaths along the top. Don’t attempt to walk along the beach level unless you know what you’re doing as you’ll get cut off by the tides. Perhaps not as nice as the Seven Sisters white cliffs but still a nice area to walk. Watch the ferries come in and out of Dover port. I didn't see any bluebirds today but the white cliffs looked stunning. There are three different walking routes ranging from 20 minutes to 50 minutes if you choose to go the lighthouse. Car parking is £5 for non members and there is a visitor's centre which I didn't use. Some of the tracks are quite steep but there is a flatter path that you can use if you prefer. Well worth a trip but not ideal for dogs, as they cannot be let of the lead for most of the walk due to horses. Great staff. Nice view. Tomatoe bean soup was excellent. Chips outstanding. Fish was HUGE. Fish was only exception to a great meal. Itcould have have more flavor. This is right next to where I now live. The whole cliffe-top area is outstanding. You need not worry about visiting the paid-for attraction, just head to St Margaret's at Cliffe and explore the many walks from there. The whole area is easily walkable and dog-friendly. Lovely walks along the cliff tops. Watching the ferries docking and leaving is fun. The view across to France were so clear you could see the buildings in Calais. I recommend this place for a visit. The path across the clifftop is easily accessible and the views over the Channel are outstanding. There is a visitor centre with tearooms and a shop. The site is managed by the National Trust. The parking charge for non members is £5.00 for the day so you can take a leisurely stroll all the way to St Margaret's and beyond or find a place to stop for a picnic. Keep your dogs on leads though; there are rabbits and no fences at the edge of the cliff. Visiting wanstone battery for heritage open days We parked at the visitors centre which is free for blue badge holders get there early as it fills up quite quickly, it has a lovely cafe and gift shop, there are stunning views on the way to the fanbay deep shelter. If you have a carer they get in free with a disabled person paying £15.00 full adult price. Steve the guide is unbelievable, his historical knowledge is amazing and he made the tour so informative and interesting 👍 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
