For those requiring a short stopover to wash, sleep and recover like I had too then it is one of the only campsites in Saarbrücken to do this. Facilities are suitable and you pay for what you get! Perfect campsite when cycling along the Saar. Showers and toilets have been renovated recently, there's a supermarket next door, and there are tables and benches you can use. Although the highway is on the other bank of the river, you can hear the motor traffic very well. I tried to book for a night here but they didn’t really communicate with me, I turned up on the off chance and there’s quite blunt note on the door (when you can eventually find it) saying they’re shut and come back at x time. The place looks run down, doesn’t smell great and it’s really not clear what’s what, so I carried on. I’m not precious about where I stay but this place was probably the first place I’ve ever felt like I didn’t want to stop. I love campsites like this. The basic facilities are all there and in good order; the managers are informal and helpful; the price is low. The narrow valley crams in an autobahn right across the river, and light industry along its banks: this is hardly a holiday destination. The nearby town centre is well supplied with kebab shops and boasts a Romanian restaurant. But also a substantial supermarket just down the street. For a touring cyclist like me this was an excellent place to stop, rest, resupply and move on. The campground is situated between a stinking wastewater treatment plant, a busy road, and a party noisy park. The hostess' phone is never answered, she does not even have change money. There is no toilet tissue included. The only good things, the warm shower is included and the bathroom is clean. Relaxing place to camp. Happy Camping So beautiful and lovely place to enjoy your holiday but it is more lovely and companionable with the presence of the owner of the camp, Ms Carmen.
