We haven't been there for years so it was a nostalgia trip for an afternoon cup of tea. We came with our local cycling club for lunch in the winter months many years ago... The tea was breakfast tea, standard, the caramel shortcake (also called Millionaire's shortbread) is made in house and is the best I've tried in years. 10 out of 10 to the baker! Plenty of parking when we visited. Stopped of for a milk shake and a bit of cake The staff where so and nice our little dog even made the pup wall Definitely worth a little stop of here for a smile and a lovely slice of cheese cake Update: Sadly, very disappointing today... Ordered the poached eggs on toast. The chef obviously scooped the eggs out of the pan and dumped them, water and all, into the toast, resulting in very wet, soggy toast! 🥴 The eggs themselves were pretty poorly poached (how hard can it really be? 🤷♂️). Then I enjoyed the <crunch> of egg shell hidden underneath! Delightful! 🤢 Took the time to give constructive feedback to one of the staff, but I got the impression that she didn't really care much. Didn't even get an apology... Not great, especially when I'm trying to coax the local club bike ride to swing by the Milk bar for coffee and cake (easily two groups of 20+ riders)... Such a contrast with my previous visits here. ---- Stop off for refuelling about ¾ through a 100 mile bicycle ride. Really didn't expect the toastie to be such a full plate with a decent bit of salad, nachos, and some coleslaw (that was not drowned in mayo! 👍). Ham and apple wood smoked cheese was very tasty and properly 'loaded'. Definitely no skimping! 👌 Coffee was excellent too (flat white made properly - ie triple espresso shot). Staff were very and welcoming - very positive and helpful despite the place being very busy. A perfect stop that hit the spot! Very much enjoyed that! First visit with my husband and granddaughter. The ladies were so lovely and the food was fresh and plenty. The lentil soup was gorgeous. Coffee hot and will most definitely return. Nice selection of food in a convenient location. Pork and haggis sausage roll was a highlight. Cosy, community feel to the place. service. Dog indoors 🐾 A little gem of a cafe and so happens to be a popular bikers spot too. Lots of chat, nice food and coffee (real espresso machine!) and staff are lovely. It’s a nice social spot and have been chatting to fellow bikers. Will now be a regular spot for breakfast/lunch when I have my down time. Fantastic stop for breakfast or lunch. Food was excellent with great portions. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of parking. Closed on Sundays, and you can't book a table. Kids high chairs available at the door. Find a table choose what you want from the menu and order at the till. Highly recommend. Food is absolutely wonderful. Fresh, plentiful, an amazing selection and very reasonably priced. Cakes, coffee, milkshakes and ice-cream all amazing too - tried them all 😃. Staff are lovely and friendly, background music great and a great atmosphere. We just love Powmill. 🥰 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
