At first glance, Zajazd Magrani gave me the impression of a typical Polish roadside inn – the kind often used for weddings or large family events, where the food is just “fine” and the prices a bit steep. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I ordered the classic schabowy with baked potatoes and surówka (Polish salad), and what arrived was a complete revelation. The schabowy was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, yet incredibly juicy and tender on the inside – hands down the best I’ve ever had in Poland. And yes, I dare say it – even better than my grandmother’s! The potatoes were beautifully roasted, full of flavor, and sprinkled with fresh dill. The surówka was fresh, vibrant, and balanced the meal perfectly. Everything on the plate tasted like it was made with love and care, and the presentation was surprisingly refined. The biggest shock, however, came from my father-in-law – a man famously impossible to please when it comes to restaurant food. After one bite, he looked up and declared it was the best schabowy he had ever eaten. I’ve never heard anything remotely close to praise from him before. That alone says it all. The prices? Totally fair, especially considering the quality and portion size. Zajazd Magrani is an absolute hidden gem, and I’m already planning my next visit. If you’re in the area and want a meal that exceeds every expectation – go. Just go. Service was great. We preordered and the door for all 24 of us came out of the kitchen in an orderly manner. Wszystko było pyszne, dobrze doprawione i ładnie podane.
